It might not have been a pretty win for the Ravens on Sunday, nonetheless the Ravens claimed victory in overtime. The Ravens are now 9-2 and will be heading into the post season. Here’s a review of what went on Sunday afternoon in San Diego.
Torrey Smith had another impressive performance, catching seven passes for 144 yards. The young speedster has been a great asset to the Raven’s offense. Joe Flacco let loose completing 30 of his 51 passes for 355 yards and one touchdown. Ray Rice had 97 yards rushing and another 67 receiving yards. The Ravens had 443 total net yards.
The defense managed to sack Phillip Rivers six times on the day, most of which came from the defensive line. Bernard Pollard led the team in tackles with seven solo tackles and one assist. The defense held strong in the game, only allowing the Chargers to gain 280 net yards of offense.
Another big week for kicker Justin Tucker. The rookie was a perfect 3/3 in the game, but more importantly, one was to send the Ravens in to overtime and another to win the game in overtime. Sam Koch punted 8 times for the Ravens, averaging 42.4 yards and kicking 3 of which inside the 20 yard line.
