Bucks Ride the Bench to Comeback Win Over Bulls

The Milwaukee Bucks faced a 27-point deficit late in the third quarter against the Bulls Monday Night but that did not make them leave Chicago disappointed as they were able to squeak out a 93-92 victory over the Bulls. The Bucks had lost nine in a row against Chicago but that changed after Monday’s game.
Scott Skiles made the move to put his reserves in when the starters were not showing any signs of life or the ability to put a dent in the Bulls lead and the move paid off big time as the reserves made a 31-4 run at one point to help get the Bucks past their Chicago struggles. This was a great win for the Bucks as they saw what their bench can do and how well they play together but this is a game the Bulls will want to forget. This is the type of game the Bulls have to close out because they had this one and games they are in control of are important to get until the return off Derrick Rose. The Bulls came out hot early but failed to match the energy and will of the Bucks reserves which ultimately led to this disheartening loss. The Bulls fall to 6-7 on the year and also watch their home record fall to 3-4 on the young season. The Bulls need Rose to return and it is evident with this late game collapse that Rose would have been able to most likely close out and prevent.
A few positives of the game that the Bulls can take out of it are the strong play of Richard Hamilton and Carlos Boozer as well as their performance from the free throw line (89.5%) and beyond the arc (45.5%). Hamilton was able to produce 30 points for the Bulls and Boozer posted a double-double with 19 points to go along with 11 rebounds. The bench was a huge disappointment this game as they scored a total of 10 points in a combined forty minutes of play, and this is an area the Bulls could count on in past years but the bench production thus far has been way too inconsistent and it’s a major contributor to the Bulls early season mediocrity.
