BENCH CHRISTIAN PONDER OR LOSE YOUR JOB

This is the choice you have Leslie Frazier. Christian Ponder has cost the Minnesota Vikings another game. Not a game that they might have won, but a game that they would have won if Ponder had not thrown TWO red-zone, and actually endzone interceptions. TWO. In one game against your biggest division rival. Coach Frazier, you have earned your job as Vikings’ Head Coach, but you didn’t draft Ponder and the man who did(Rick Spielman) will keep his job after you lose yours. This decision is in your hands. Ponder is apparently a great guy and a very hard worker. That doesn’t translate to a great quarterback.
Adrian Peterson is the best running back in the NFL, the comeback player of the year, and arguably the NFL MVP. All of this incredible play is being compromised by Ponder. There are plenty of other players, including Jared Allen, Antoine Winfield, and even Chad Greenway that are playing at an elite level, but have a limited window in which to win big games, and dare I say a Super Bowl. Again, Christian Ponder and his play are holding them all back.
The Vikings loss to Green Bay on Sunday dropped them to 6-6 and on the outskirts of the playoffs. This team still has big games coming up, but they have to make a change at quarterback. Start Joe Webb, call Brett Favre, trade for Tarvaris Jackson, or hell, even call Tommy Kramer in off the couch. Any of those options would be better than Ponder. All indications are that Frazier is a nice guy. Christian is a nice guy. Nice guys finish last. Make a change.
