Week 13 was a rough week for the Baltimore Ravens. Losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers was the last thing they wanted and needed for their stats. The Ravens are now 9-3. Here’s what we saw on Sunday.
Ray Rice had a decent game running the ball. He had 12 carries for 78 yards including a stunning 34 yard touchdown run. Bernard Pierce, the rookie running back out of Temple, showed his skills well. He played tough and gained 34 yards for the Ravens. Flacco didn’t have his best game of the year, throwing for only 188 yards and completing on less than 50% of his throws. He also had a poorly thrown interception, turning into a costly mistake for the Ravens.
Both safeties Ed Reed and Bernard Pollard had great games for the Ravens. Reed had one fumble recovery and a spectacular interception in the end zone. Corey Graham also had a big game. He snagged an interception and had 11 tackles for the day. The defense as a whole only sacked Charlie Batch 2 times and gave up 366 net yards.
No surprise that Justin Tucker was a solid 100% on field goals for the day, one from 45 yards out and the other from 23 yards. David Reed returned to the field for the Ravens after rehabbing his torn ACL he suffered in the off season. Reed had a spectacular tackle on the punt team, helping the Ravens in the game of hidden yards. Overall, the Ravens had a good day of special teams.
Hopefully the Ravens can re-start their winning streak next weekend against Washington.
