Week 14: Ravens vs. Redskins

Posted By Brandie On Dec 9 2012 @ 12:25 pm In Baltimore Ravens | No Comments

The Ravens will take on the Redskins today at Fed-Ex Field. Here’s what to expect!

Offense:

Look for Baltimore’s rushing attack to get some work in.  Rookie Bernard Pierce has been running hard, backing up Ray Rice.  These two make a great combination in the run game.  Also look for Flacco to step his game up.  The veteran quarterback needs to prove himself to his teammates.  This team will only go as far as Joe Flacco will take them.

Defense:

With the double threat of RGIII’s running and passing, the Raven’s defense needs to be able to contain Griffin.  Look for tight pass coverage on the Redskin’s wide receivers.  Pass plays will last longer because of the scrambling RGIII, the secondary needs to stay tight with the receivers and the defensive line has to pressure and sack Griffin.  Terrell Suggs is inactive for the game and Paul Kruger and Courtney Upshaw will have to step in for Suggs.

Special Teams:

For the Raven’s to win this week, they must win all three phases of the game.  Sam Koch and Justin Tucker have been great for the team thus far, look for them to continue their great track record.  Jacoby Jones has the potential to be a game changer for the Raven’s.  Look for good blocks and the speedster Jones returning kicks for touchdowns.
