It was a close game today at Fed- Ex Field. The Ravens played against the Redskins and suffered a rough loss in overtime. Here are a couple things we saw earlier today:
Joe Flacco stepped up this week and had a great game. He threw for 182 yards with 16 completions on 21 attempts. He threw three touchdowns and one interception. Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce also had great games this week. Rice had 20 carries for 121 yards and one touchdown, while Bernard Pierce had eight rushes for 53 yards. These two running backs have proven to be a good 1-2 punch for the Ravens.
The defense gave up 420 total net yards, 248 passing and 182 rushing. Paul Kruger managed to recover a fumble for the only defensive turnover for the day as well as working up 1.5 sacks for the Ravens. Jameel McClain led the team with four unassisted tackles and four assisted tackles.
In overtime the Ravens had a big breakdown on punt coverage. The rookie Richard Crawford of the Redskins returned Sam Koch’s punt for 64 yards to set up the game winning field goal for the Redskins. Justin Tucker was perfect on his extra point attempts, but otherwise it was a slow day for Tucker.
The Ravens take on the Denver Broncos at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday, December 16, at 1 PM. Here’s to hoping the Ravens have a great week of practice and get on a winning streak again on Sunday.
