Packers clinch division against rival Bears

The Green Bay Packers continued their division dominance this past Sunday against the Chicago Bears in Solider Field.
Before I get too far into the blog here I would like to apologize for not being able to get up a preview blog, my Internet was not allowing me to gain access on this website Sunday morning before the game.
Anyways, the Packers took care of business as I had expected. I felt the Packers are just the better, more complete team and it once again showed Sunday.
The Bears offense is the same two player show with Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall. The problem for Bears fans is that Cutler is horrible against the Packers. His two worst games this year came this past Sunday and in week two against the Pack.
Another reason Cutler has to despise seeing the Packers twice a year, Clay Matthews. In his return after missing four weeks with a hamstring injury, Matthews continued to dominate. He recorded two sacks, one pass defensed and I recall multiple other plays where he was in the backfield upsetting the running game for the Bears. Matthews makes this Packers defense look completely different, there has to be excitement with the return of Charles Woodson next weekend.
While the Bears spiral downward and potentially out of the playoffs, the Packers continue to find ways to win; as they have won eight of their last nine games. The thing about the Packers is their defense looks to be in place with the return of Matthews, Woodson and Sam Shields, more on him in a bit, but the offense has yet to fire at full strength. Look for Aaron Rodgers and the offense to get things figured out with the return of Jordy Neslon and two favorable match-ups with the Tennessee Titans and Minnesota Vikings.
Now back to a guy who has been having one of the best seasons for the Packers, Shields. Yes, rookie Casey Hayward is deserving of being defensive rookie of the year as he continues to find the football and provide solid coverage, but Shields returning from his injury has solidified this secondary and it showed Sunday.
Shields was covering Alshon Jeffery for the majority of the game and on Jeffery’s four targets, none of them were completed. Shields was blanketing him in coverage, so much he drew three offensive pass interferences on Jeffery and also knocked down the fourth down attempt to end the game. Shields along with Hayward, Tramon Williams and Davon House provide a bright future for the Packers secondary. It has been a nice surprise for the season, especially because it keeps Jarrett Bush on the bench.
