Not only did the Washington Redskins win the NFC East but they took the Cowboys out of the playoffs. 2 birds 1 stone. This is the first divisional title in 13 years. The Redskins are also the only team to make the playoffs after starting 3-6 since the Jaguars in 1996. So how did they do it?
- The defense for starters. The picked off 3 Tony Romo passes, which easily could have been a couple scores for the Cowboys. I also have to gush over London Fletcher again. There aren’t many line backers given full carte blanche by their defensive coordinator to make changes. The Redskins were blitzing like I’ve never seen and it worked on Romo.
- RG3. Wow. Even at what 80-90% he rushed for 63 yards and ran a TD in himself. He only threw 9/18 for 100 yards but many passes were dropped. As well, it’s his skill at fooling not only the defense but even the camera operators not knowing where the ball is that’s so affective. RG3 ends the season with 3,200 yards passing, 815 rushing, 20 TDs and only 5 interceptions.
- Alfred Morris. He rushed for 200 yards for 3 TDs. That’s 1 yard MORE than Adrian Peterson ran. Morris ends the regular season with 1,613 yards and 13 TDs. Amazing.
Since the Redskins won their division, the Seattle Seahawks will now travel to meet the Redskins on Sunday, January 6th at 4:30 PM.
HTTR and Hail To Thy Robert!

Written by Mercedes Green
I lived in Greene County Virginia for about 5 years of my childhood. This span of time was enough to imprint the love of the Washington Redskins (and hate of the Dallas Cowboys) into my life forever, even though I am Canadian and still live in Canada. I am in no way an expert on sports, football, or even the Redskins, but I do absolutely adore them, their fans and their home state(s). My favourite Redskin is and will always be Darrell Green (not because we share the same last name lol). I've adored Chris Cooley since he joined the team from the 2004 draft and love London Fletcher. Hail to the Redskins! See you October 30th in my home town of Toronto.
