A Patriots Quick Offseason Review

I have been gone for quite some time, but am back and here to talk about the Pats.

First, Wes Welker left the team and it seems to fall on the Patriots shoulders. As soon as there was trouble with Welker’s contract it was obvious that he would not be a Patriot much longer. The Pats do not have MVP’s; they are a team. There was no chance of an agreement after Welker’s wife had some harsh words for the press. The Pats hate trash talk toward the organization more than they hate Peyton Manning. These factors turned Welker into a Denver Broncos. A team the Pats beat handily last season 31-21, leading the entire game. Belichick says Amendola looks better than Welker already and Amendola is more of a deep threat. So I am not frightened about the loss of a slot receiver.

Then there is Hernendez. What can be said about that guy. Hernendez seemed to turn his life around making it a very sad story. His charges went from obstruction of justice to a triple murder in just a few weeks. The Pats released him just before his charges were changed and I doubt they are regretting their decision. Brady said to Peter King of Sports illustrated, “I’ve moved on.”

The Pats still have two great defensive prospects, Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and if they give up less passing yards than last year, a shot at the Super Bowl. The Ravens are down, Denver cannot beat the Pats, and Houston”s QB cannot win the big one. It’s looking good. And let’s not forget Tebow.
