Every fan has high hopes for a team that is in a rebuilding stage. After being one of the most powerful and lethal teams in the late 90′s and early 00′s, the Colorado Avalanche have fallen off the earth. Well, not really, but they have fallen to the be deemed ‘The Worst Team In The NHL’. With their recent high draft picks in 2011 and in 2013, the Avalanche are full of raw talent that is just waiting to blossom.
Players like: Matt Duchene, Gabe Landeskog, Stefan Elliot, Ryan O’Reilly, Tyson Barrie, and the very recent Nathan Mackinnon show that the Avalanche have very young stars in the making. Will they hit their potential? Some will, some wont, but I’m hopeful that Matt Duchene and Gabe Landeskog will hit their 60-70 point season. Its a bit of a stretch, but don’t we all hope for more than what we get?
This team will do a lot, whether its this year or in 3 years. Watch out for the Colorado Avalanche, because they could be holding Lord Stanley pretty soon.
