The Redskins lost to the Eagles last night 27-33. I’m not surprised nor upset as I’ve seen the Redskins lose their home opener in person for many years so it’s just another one to get over with. It was also RG3’s “triumphant” return to football after double knee surgery in January. We all knew he was going to be rusty. He barely touched the ball in the 1st quarter thanks to the Eagles offense taking most of the snaps. He showed more of himself in the 4th quarter and at one point thought they may have come back to win. He only ran a couple times, was intercepted twice, fumbled once, did some slides and took a bunch of hits, but he still played, is still okay, so we all gotta get some patience. He didn’t play during the preseason so of course he’s not going to be playing at his Rookie of the Year self. Perhaps we all should take his last fined shirt “Operation Patience” to heart. It’s going to take some time. It’s also quite ironic that he wore this shirt to show his patience in trying to get playing again and now he is playing and the patience is now for him to get back to himself.
RG3 still managed more yards than Vick with 329. He was sacked 3 times, but so was Vick. The Eagles started with a fast paced offense that took the Redskins D by surprise and all of their steam but it didn’t last the entire game. The Eagles only managed
7 points in the 2nd half to the Redskins 20. Alfred Morris had a messy start with a fumble on his first carry.
Even the reliable Kai Forbath missed his one and only field goal attempt, but that still wouldn’t have been enough to win. Here are the rest of the numbers.

Written by Mercedes Green
I lived in Greene County Virginia for about 5 years of my childhood. This span of time was enough to imprint the love of the Washington Redskins (and hate of the Dallas Cowboys) into my life forever, even though I am Canadian and still live in Canada. I am in no way an expert on sports, football, or even the Redskins, but I do absolutely adore them, their fans and their home state(s). My favourite Redskin is and will always be Darrell Green (not because we share the same last name lol). I've adored Chris Cooley since he joined the team from the 2004 draft and love London Fletcher. Hail to the Redskins! See you October 30th in my home town of Toronto.
