Fantasy Football Week 4 Waivers

Bilal Powell – With Chris Ivory suffering a hamstring injury in the same leg that kept him out for most of preseason, coupled with the poor play he has had in these first few weeks, Powell looks like he will be the feature back for the Jets with a lot of upside. The Jets have a great run schedule and a strong offensive line. It’s debatable whether or not his touches will be scaled back when Mike Goodson returns, but as of now Powell is the back to own. Currently owned in 54% of leagues.
Isaiah Pead – Daryl Richardson hurt his foot that had been troubling him all week on the first play of the game against Dallas. Though Pead didn’t do much to wow in the run game, he was a solid fill in and has more stand-alone talent than Richardson. He was solid in the passing game and could be a solid add if Richard’s troublesome foot turns into multiple games out. Don’t reach too hard though, as the Rams will face a tough 49ers defense this week. He is currently available in 86% of leagues.
Willis McGahee – After the head-scratching, blockbuster trade of Trent Richardson, most league owners snatched up McGahee as quick as they could, but if he is still on your waivers he’s worth an immediate add with few starting RBs left out there. He is currently available in 49% of leagues.
Ryan Broyles – With Nate Burleson suffering a broken arm off the field, Broyles will be the WR to own opposite of Calvin Johnson in Detroit. He is being brought along slowly by Detroit after suffering an ACL tear last season, but should be a good sleeper candidate in PPR leagues. He is currently available in 79% of leagues.
Justin Blackmon – Many leagues probably have Blackmon drafted, but some disillusioned owners may have dropped him. Now is the time to target him where available, with his return from a 4 game suspension looming. He will step back in to his WR1 status and was strong down the stretch last season. He is currently available in 60% of leagues.
Terrance Williams – Williams is the likely backup to Miles Austin if he is out at any point in time. Dallas is calling Austin’s hamstring strain minor, but with his history of hamstring issues, Austin owners would do well to grab him as a handcuff. He is currently available in 99% of leagues.
Heath Miller – Remember last season when Miller was one of the best tight ends in fantasy? He may be returning from a bad leg injury where he tore multiple ligaments in his knee, but he remains Big Ben’s security blanket and is worth rostering as a backup to your starter. He is currently available in 74% of leagues.
Brian Hoyer – While the Browns have not announced who will start in week 4, Hoyer is worth a look after posting a line of 321/3/3. If Cleveland is tanking the way they appear to be, then Hoyer could stick and be worthy of a roster spot on teams and even a start in 2 QB leagues. He is currently available in 98% of leagues.
Others to watch: Pierre Thomas (55% of leagues), Geno Smith (95% of leagues), Brandon Bolden (98% of leagues), and Jake Locker (94% of leagues).
