Ravens Fall to Bills

Sunday’s game against the Bills was not one of the Raven’s proudest moments. Falling to a team like the Bills after their Super Bowl win last season is definitely a sign that the Ravens are not where they used to be- or where they should be for that matter. If you missed the game here’s what you missed… (or didn’t miss at all).
Baltimore’s offense really struggled this game, Joe Flacco threw for 347 yards but only completed half of his passes, going 25/50. Flacco threw two touchdowns, one to Torrey Smith and one to Marlon Brown. Flacco threw an embarrassing five interceptions in Sundays game. Smith led the team in receiving with 166 yards, followed by Deonte Thompson with 50 yards. The Ravens only ran the ball nine times for 24 yards. Ray Rice carried for 17 yards and Bernard Pierce tacked on another seven. With as many turnovers as Baltimore had, they were lucky to keep the game as close as they did.
The Defense held EJ Manuel to only 167 yards passing on 10 completions. The Bills rushed for 203 yards on 55 carries, out-rushing the Ravens. Terrell Suggs led the team with 17 total tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, and three QB hits. Daryl Smith was also in the double digit tackles with 12 and added an interception to his stats, as did Corey Graham. The defense managed to get three turnovers during the game.
Justin Tucker was a perfect 2/2 on field goals, splitting the uprights from 35 and 24 yards out. All of Tucker’s kick offs were touchbacks as well, ensuring the defense will get the ball at the 20 yard line every time. Tandon Doss, filling in for the injured Jacoby Jones returned four punts for an average of 7.8 yards and a long of 17 yards. It was a solid day by the special teams unit, nothing flashy happened but they kept the ball safe and played well.
Embarrassed Ravens fans are looking for redemption this coming weekend against the Dolphins who are now 3-1. The Ravens will have to work hard if they are looking to go 3-2.
