Win one for Mack!

Posted By Don Greene On Oct 3 2013 @ 9:14 pm In All Sports,Big 12,NCAAF,Texas | No Comments

The win over K. State for Texas was an emotional win.  Earlier in the week Hicks supposely contacted Saban’s camp.  Shirts were being sold in favor of  Saban being hired as the next Coach for the Longhorns.

The Longhorn job is the cream of the crop.  It will take at least 10 million a year plus perks to get Saban to Texas.  It really is  time for the SEC  style of play to be brought to Texas.  I like smash ball when two opponents line up and just go at it for three hours are so.  Texas to some degree has become a finese team over the years.  And again, it started after the National Championship game.

The old Texas kinda showed up this past Saturday but I think this just might be a down year for K. State.  This is the first time in years Texas has beat K. state.  And it was on the heels of the possibilty of their head coach being fired.

I am not sure what was said or done to get this team to finally show up a play aginst a fairly good team.  Must remember texas has trouble with Top 25 ranked teams and K. state was not ranked especially after the lost to N. Dakota state.

I recenmtly read were Earl campbell thought Mach should be fired.  Earl is normally a quiet  person and says very little about UT’s coaches.  He knows coaches having played for Royal’s and Bum.  He is pushing for the hire of Jerry  Gray fromer great DB and currently on the Titan’s coaching staff.

Whoever is hired hope they are great recruitiers and know how to use them.  That is Texas’ biggest problem recruiting.  The current make up of this team is just not put out wins.  I look at the leading passes Ash.  He is no Johnny Money at A & M.  Ash has a fairly good arm and runs ok.  But, he does not have leadership and doesn’t think well on his feet.    The current ofensive line v. A & M lines no comparision.  A & M have several future high draft picks were as Texas has none.  I must say the back are good but performing overall poorly in this system.    I do like the recivers but again not getting them the enough to show case their talent.  That is due to not the right QB.

And, I will talk about the defensive side of the ball.  Players that just can not talcke well in open field.  But, I stop their Texas should win the game by seven.  I hope for Mack’s pride.  I would hate to see them lose  and then fired at the airport like Kiffin.
