Wisconsin came out of Champaign, Illinois Saturday night with a convincing 56-32 victory. The momentum came from a productive night on the shoulders of Melvin Gordon who rushed for 147 yards and 3 tds. The 147 rushing yards put Melvin Gordon total at 1,012 yards for the season. James White added 98 yards and 2 scores of his own.

Wisconsin jumped out to a 21-0 first quarter lead, with both Gordon, White, and TE, Brian Wozniak finding the end zone.

The win, did come at a cost, starting linebacker Chris Borland hurt his hamstring in the first quarter covering a punt and watched the rest of the game in street clothes on the sideline.

Illinois who was averaging 175 rushing yards a game was held to just 72 yards on 29 carries against a Wisconsin defense that has one of the top ranked rushing defenses in the country.
