Jason Pominville gave the Minnesota Wild their first shoot-out victory of the season. Pominville scored at the end of regulation to tie it up and then when on to score the game winner shoot-out.
Zach Parise, Mikko Koivu and Pominville all scored for the Wild in the shoot-out. For the Hurricanes, Jiri Tlusty and Ryan Murphy scored.
For the Wild, Josh Harding made 27 saves and is now 9-2-2 on the season. For the Hurricanes, Justin Peters stopped 28 saves, but allowed the three overtime goals. The Wild have won 7 of their last 9 games.
