It’s obvious, the Ravens haven’t been doing well this season, but they’re not doing as horrible as it sounds. It’s a weird year in the league, everyone seems to be struggling, well, except for Kansas City that is. Even though the Ravens are 4-5 they’re still in the running for the playoffs. (Stay strong, Ravens fans!)
Here’s what to look for today when the Ravens play the Bears at 1 PM ET at Soldier Field.
This could be a great week for the Ravens offense to fire on all pistons. The Bears defense isn’t the strongest in the league and presents a good opportunity for both the Raven’s passing game and rushing attack. Watch for full back Vonte Leach and the offensive line to clear out holes for Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce. These two running backs are due for a big game. As always, keep an eye on #82, Torrey Smith. The third year player has established himself as one of the biggest assets the Ravens have.
The Ravens defense has their hands full today with Bears Running back Matt Forte. Forte has 7 rushing TD’s this season and is one of the top rushers this year. The Ravens defense has only allowed one rushing TD all year and allows an average of 102 rushing yards per game. If the Ravens could hold true to this statistic, their chances of winning will dramatically increase. Watch for Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil as usual to rush the Bears quarterback. Suggs and Dumervil are one of the NFL’s best duo at rushing the passer.
Justin Tucker has been one of the NFL’s best kickers since entering the league last year. He has kicked numerous game winning field goals and proven himself as a reliable player for the Ravens. If the game boils down to a kick, Harbaugh won’t even question whether or not to put Tucker in, or to go for it.
Happy game day, everyone!
