At Halftime the Ravens are up 9-3. Here’s how the game has been played so far.
Flacco is 10 for 18 passing at halftime with 168 yards and one interception. The interception was a miscommunication between Flacco and his receivers. With everyone on the same page, they should have no problem marching the ball downfield. Tyrod Taylor has been very effective running the Wild Cat style offense. It has thrown the defense off and Taylor’s speed is a dangerous weapon. Tight End Ed Dickson has had an active first half. He leads Baltimore with three receptions for 55 yards.
The defense has held Geno Smith to only two completions of 21 yards. They are doing a fantastic job of beating the Jet’s offensive linemen and putting pressure on smith. As expected, Terrell Suggs and Daryl Smith are making big plays. Smith with a sack and a few big hits, Suggs with a fumble recovery and a few big hits of his own. Putting pressure on the young QB will be the key to winning this game.
Kicker Justin Tucker is a perfect 3 for 3 on field goals for the day. The wind has been steadily blowing, but Tucker hasn’t let that effect his kicks or mind set. Jacoby Jones almost broke loose on his only punt return of the half. He ran for 19 yards before being brought down by the punt coverage team of the Jets. Look for Jacoby to help set up his team with long punt returns.
