The stakes are high for Thursday night’s Thanksgiving game against the Steelers and Ravens. The Ravens are coming off a big win against the Jets and are looking forward to keeping the train moving with their fans by their side. Kick off is at 8:30 ET at M&T Bank Stadium, expect a big show from both of these rivalry teams.
It is imperative for Joe Flacco to have a good game. He is the leader of the offense and the team’s destiny rides on how well Joe plays. With the Ravens rushing attack being less than optimal this year, the team has turned to Joe to lead the offense. Look for Joe to get comfortable early with his trusted receivers like Torrey Smith and Dallas Clark. Once that is established, watch for a few shots to Jacoby Jones who is the teams deep ball player.
Getting Ben Roethlisberger down to the ground is the key for the defense. Ben is a large guy and difficult to bring down. He can often extend plays by escaping sacks and running out of the pocket to hit a re-routed receiver. If the Ravens can contain Ben’s play extension ability, they will have a much better shot at beating the Steelers. Terrell Suggs is looking to get his sack record back up to his typical season high, look for him to continuously go after Rothlisberger.
Justin Tucker has been nominated for the AFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this month. The kicker has been very solid for the Ravens the past two seasons and was a perfect 4/4 last week against the Jets. Also watch for Jacoby Jones to have an explosive performance returning punts and kickoffs for the Ravens. He has been a great asset to the Ravens and is very entertaining to watch.
If the Ravens are still looking to play in the post season they will need to clinch this win. Look for a hard fought, dirty game, may the best man win!
