Jets Are Sticking To The Plan

The New York Jets’ season is going down a slippery slope, but they aren’t changing anything.

Head coach Rex Ryan has made it clear he is sticking with Geno Smith at quarterback.  He still has faith in the rookie, even with all the mistakes he’s made recently.

The Jets have scored 20 points during their three-game losing streak and have looked incompetent at times.  Although the Oakland Raiders’ defense can be tough they’ve given up 25 points a game this season, which bodes well for New York.  Smith, who hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass in the past five games, hopes to get back on track against the 24th ranked pass defense.

New York will be going up against another rookie quarterback in Matt McGloin.  The Penn State product has thrown for over 250 yards in each of his last two games.  It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Raiders let him loose, considering the Jets have the top run defense in the league.

Rashad Jennings has stepped in nicely at running back for Oakland, but the way New York’s line has been playing lately he shouldn’t expect to put up big numbers.

As the Jets’ defense continues to be a force to be reckoned with, the offense must step up and do their part.  Twelve games into his career Geno Smith has thrown 19 interceptions.  He needs to start showing progress in order for the Jets to win now and in the future.

Final Score: New York 17  Oakland 9
