The Ravens worst nightmare has happened. For the first time in John Harbaugh’s history with the team, the Ravens have missed the playoffs. If you watched their fate unfold you saw a tired, unorganized Ravens team who just couldn’t get it together.
The Ravens offense was a force to reckon with until they passed the 50 yard line today. They continued the trend from previous games of kicking field goals rather than scoring touchdowns. Flacco was 30 for 50 throwing for 192 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. The offense kicked three field goals and made them all, but were unable again to turn their drives into touchdowns. The only touchdown came from a catch by the rookie Marlon Brown. The Ravens rushing attack finished with a net of 47 yards.
Rookie safety Matt Elam finished the game with seven solo tackles and three assisted tackles. He finished a great rookie season for the Ravens; be on the watch next season for this young player. The defense intercepted Andy Dalton four times but was unable to sack the Bengals QB.
2014 Pro Bowl kicker Justin Tucker was a perfect 3/3 on the day, connecting from 38, 22, and 34 yards. Jacoby Jones was contained by the Bengals today on kick and punt returns. Sam Koch punted six times today with a long of 55 and one inside the 20.
The Ravens season is over and the rebuilding process continues to occur. Hopefully the Ravens we saw last season will be the team we see in the 2014 season.
