It’s been a rough week for the Ravens leading up to tonight’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
A few players added to the roster this year that will be able to make a huge impact today, and this season, are wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. (Panthers), running back Justin Forsett (Jacksonville), and CJ Mosely, a linebacker drafted this year.
What to watch for:
Offense: Justin Forsett will be filling in for Ray Rice; in last week’s game against the Bengals the Ravens passed the ball 60+ times, look for a more balanced run/pass attack tonight. Watch for Steve Smith Sr. and Torrey Smith to lead the receivers, they both have the ability to catch deep passes and are talented players that could make game-winning plays. Luckily, Dennis Pitta is back to full health after being out last year, watch for him to bounce back and play like his healthy self, previous to his hip surgery.
Defense: Watch for rookie CJ Mosely to have an impact in anchoring the D, along with Terrell Suggs, Haloti Ngata, and Matt Elam.
Special Teams: Justin Tucker as always, is a solid kicker and someone the Ravens can always depend on, saving the day more games than not last season. Punter, Sam Koch, is a weapon to help win the game of hidden yardage. Look for lots of fair catches on punts, this allows the Ravens to keep the Offense pinned.
It will be an emotional game tonight for the Ravens and their fans after all of the drama the team, and NFL, have been through this week. It will be interesting to see how the Ravens perform under the pressure and negative spotlight from the media.
One of the greatest rivalries in the history of the NFL, who do you think will end up on top tonight?
