This is a toughie for the Pats.
They said no way and then they said they disagree. They kind of agreed and Brady took it to court. Brady gets his punishment and, almost, everyone is up in arms. They even have a protest in the NFL Lobby and four fans were arrested. Hilarious, of course, but if you would like to donate to the cause they have a GoFundMe page. Seriously though, the punishment did not match the footballs. Inflated if anything.
This is the common punishment for Steroid use and we all know he is not on Steroids. He is a multiple time Super Bowl Champ, had a (nearly) undefeated season, and, like LeBron in the NBA or Crosby in the NHL, should be given the benefit of the doubt. When is the last time Lebron was called for a charge? Athletes are trying to bend the rules every play, and, just because he got away with it, it is something for the officials to be blamed for just like any other questionable call. Maybe the Patriots start the season on a 1st and 25?
No, No, he did get caught so like anyone else he deserves some sort of penalty, but 25% of the season? Let’s not forget this, Brady has NEVER lost to Andrew Luck! Three of Luck’s losses came by twenty or more points! Are we really to say that he cheated each of those times? Hire some refs NFL!
But what is a fair punishment for getting caught. Everyone gets some sort of penalty for getting caught except O.J. I would say a game suspension and a three million dollar fine. By far the highest money penalty ever because this is what this issue truly is, a finable offense. There was no intent on hurting a player and nothing was ingested. I mean what would MJ gotten form the NBA for a similar crime? A Presidential Nominee?
Roger is showing he is way out of his league. This is really getting sad for the NFL. There is a reason that a man can knock out his wife and not deflate a gate. There is something wrong with the fact that men can beat there child and not smoke a joint. We are talking about millionaires who are on TV non-stop and any actor would be persecuted for life.
Whatever happens in the end, the Pats are still making the playoffs and will probably win the Super Bowl just to piss everyone off.
