Tom Brady has been suspended for the first four games of the season. Everyone knows that. It is something that has tarnished Brady’s reputation, leaped Jimmy Garoppolo into the spotlight, and made it seem like the Super Bowl title is a vacant and up for grabs. But does Billy B think that the decision will be overturned before the season starts?
Belichick was in a press conference talking about the first OTA’s and refused to be direct as to who the Day one starter will be. Some signs point to Garoppolo. Bill says that he has made a huge leap from year one to two. That is good news for Jimmy and every realistic Pats fan, but there is some hope for the unrealistic ones.
Belichick would not firmly stamp down that Brady will not be out there playing in day one meaning he may know something we do not. When asked if they are preparing for Garoppolo to start Week One Belichick simply replied, “We’re just going day by day right now. Everybody’s working hard trying to get better. That’s what we’re all doing.” If Brady were hurt then I do not think he would be considering Jimmy, he would be training him for week one. What does this mean? I know Belichick is the master of deception, but what is there to really deceive.
He was, also, asked if Jimmy is more ready being in year two instead of year one. Part of Belichick’s reply was, “Hopefully, we’ll see that from our group.” Our group? Why not just see it from Jimmy?
Perhaps he does not want to set it in stone because Brady will start. Maybe he has something up his sleeve and he will be starting someone no one predicted. Maye I am reading way too much into all of this. No matter what happens The Pats are still going to the playoffs and Brady will avenge his name.
