I would like to make a few comments about last nights Sprite-Slam dunk competition. Not taking anything from Toronto’s Ross but I (and not only me as a Jazz fan) but several of my family and friends who support other teams agreed that Evans performed better and that when he added an artistic twist to it,that was icing on the cake. However Ross fans can make the argument that it was fan voted and that he got the majority of the votes. Either way both men did an outstanding job.
Another topic of discussion amoung my arm chair coach and critics this morning was about the length of the competition and all the props included and all the multiple attemps and we all agreed that it would be better suited for the NBA to either go back to two dunks for each competitor and cut out the hoop-la and the props and glitz and just focus on good old fashioned pure dunking if not do away with it.
On another note there is a pretty credible source out there reporting a possible deal between the Jazz and the Clippers that would include a deal that would put Jazz Forward Paul Milsap in L.A. and put Eric Bledsoe and possible another player or draft pick in a Jazz uniform.
From a personal stand point and as a fan I love the idea, Bledsoe is a young, hungry and very talented point guard that would fit in beautifuly with the likes of Kanter, Favors and Gordon Hayward. This would obviously free up a lot of much needed floor time for Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter. On a personal note I don’t think Marvin Williams or Earl Watson or Mo Williams are worth keeping around,,well possibly Mo as a third option behind Bledsoe an

isley but with Corbin you never know he is likely to go with Mo as the starter with Bledsoe as his back up which in my opinion would be a mistake. I would also like to mention that Alec Burks looks remarkable as does Demarre Carrol, the Jazz’s future looks very bright.
your comments please

They were scrappy and kept it close a good majority of the game. Despite a depleted team the Wolves came to play. Derrick Williams had 24 points and a career-high 16 rebounds maybe a small reminder why he was chosen number two overall in his draft class. Ricky Rubio played perhaps his best game since his knee injury just one rebound shy of a triple double. Pekovic was tough as usual adding 19 points and 13 boards, not to mention Luke Ridnour who had 18 points. Despite all of this it was not meant to be.

Former Timberwolve Big Al Jefferson put up a double-double with 20 points and 11 boards. Paul Millsap scored 21 points. Enes Kanter who the Wolves considered drafting ahead of Derrick Williams added 10 and DeMarre Carroll chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. All in all it was personally a better game than I thought it would be and I tip my hat to the Timberwolves but tonight belonged to the Utah Jazz continuing to fight for a much coveted playoff spot.

Where they pretty much controlled the tempo of the game and broke the Thunders four-game winning streak. Utah proved they have a very deep bench, with their bench outscoring OKC’s 49-25, and the Jazz bigs holding a 16-7 edge on the offensive glass. The Thunders 20 turn overs did not help the matter. Utah missing Gordan Hayward and still Mo Williams, among trade talks and distractions are showing they shouldn’t be counted out of the wild west picture just yet.
