Not the way you want to sart
Posted on 18 Apr 2011 by Jon Lopez.
I don't like the Grizzlies very much but I'm not gonna hate on them. The Grizzlies played a great game against the best team in the NBA minus Manu. No excuses. You can break this game and series down but at the end of the day the Grizz wanted to win more than the Spurs. If the Spurs want to win they have to man up and stop getting pushed around and stop double teaming the post and leaving shoot...

Not a Horrible start
Posted on 18 Apr 2011 by Jon Lopez.
It's not great either but considering the start the Astros had last season there is some good improvement. Offensive numbers aren't bad but consistent pitching is a problem. Myers is pitching like he wants to win the CY Young award, then you have Wandy who can't win. Lyon seems to be over the early rough start with 3 saves thus far. Most of the losses haven't been blow outs. The Astros have had...

Playoffs Finally
Posted on 14 Apr 2011 by Jon Lopez.
The Spurs didn't finish the season like they would've liked to but we're still the #1 seed with home court through the western conference finals. If anyone has questions about the spurs depth remember that the guys on the bench were the ones that made Kobe lose his cool and get fined 100k. So the Spurs get Memphis. It's th dream match-up but it could've been worse. Obvious problems, rebounding,...

One is better than None

We can all agree that Houston should be at least 3-3 instead of 1-5. Opportunities were there but pitching just hasn't shown up except for Brett Myers Who should have a record of 2-0. How do you score 4 runs in the first inning and lose the game 10-4? that's pretty bad. Not as bad as the Red Sox though. Asking a team like Houston to start the season with two of the best teams in the NL isn't th...

Rough Start
Posted on 4 Apr 2011 by Jon Lopez.
I didn't really think the Astros were gonna sweep the Phillies or anything but they should've won the first game at least. It was the perfect storm. Solid pitching from Brett and he actually got some run support. The game was in hand till the 9th. Watching Lyon give up the lead almost brought me to tears. I got really mad instead. Through out the series the Astros showed flashes of what they ca...

Spurs snap losing streak
Posted on 3 Apr 2011 by Jon Lopez.
It's about time. The Spurs came out today with the focus and energy that they've lacked the past 6 games. The starters did their job but it was the bench that carried the team. George Hill led the way with 29points, Gary Neal with 15points but Matt Bonner got bacl on track with 16points and 11 rebounds. Granted, there was no Nash and Phoenix sucks somewhat but it was a must win and they did it....

Astros Preview
Posted on 31 Mar 2011 by Jon Lopez.
Today is Opening Day and for the Astros, the season starts Tomorrow at noon in Philly. In the words of Bart Scott “can't wait”. The Astros have already been hit with a big loss with Jason Castro tearing his ACL. Quintero will see most of the action behind the plate this year. Youngster Brett Wallace is opening day starter at First. I'm not sure he's the best option. I'd like to see ...

My Courtside view of the Spurs
Posted on 30 Mar 2011 by Jon Lopez.
Monday night I got to sit in the 4th row for Spurs-Blazers game thanks to pal Jason and what I saw was a team that wanted to get a victory at home but didn't have enough to win. With none of the Big 3 or McDyess playing Just keeping the game close would have been a small victory for the Spurs. George Hill is really starting to find his offensive game with a mix of mid-range jump shots coming of...

When do the Playoffs Start?
Posted on 28 Mar 2011 by Jon Lopez.
The playoffs aren't coming fast enough. The Spurs are currently playing their worst basketball of the season. Three losses in a row for the first time this season. The injury bug is finally biting the Spurs and our lead in the standings is down to four with the schedule not gotting much easier. The bright side? The losses have been by a combined 12 points to playoff teams. The injuries aren't s...

Perfect time for Timmy’s injury.
Posted on 23 Mar 2011 by Jon Lopez.
After their first legit victory over the Mavs (beating them with Dirk) the Spurs mopped the floor with the Bobcats and then the Warriors came to town on Monday. Things were going well in the first quarter until Timmy goes down with a sprained left ankle. The Spurs cruised for most of the game but had to hold off a late run by the Warriors. So now I'm worried. Not about Timmy's ankle but about T...

A Fun Summer for the Texans
Posted on 15 Mar 2011 by Jon Lopez.
No Free agency as of yet and the Texans have holes that need to be filled. Now the caoches can't talk to the players, no workouts, nothing. The only way to improve in sight is the draft. Oh and by the way, the guy you pick might not attend the draft. He could be sueing you. I can see that conversation. Hey coach I'm glad to be here and I'll see you in court. The Texans should have a good draft....

Tough Loss to Start the Week
Posted on 15 Mar 2011 by Jon Lopez.
Mondays loss to the Heat was a tough one to take. The defense wasn't bad just alittle unfocused. The bright spot is TP9. TP9 is starting to get hot at the right time. Losing to the Heat sucks but we've already proven we can hang with them. I'm sure analyst all over are putting the Spurs down for blowout losses to the Lakers and the Heat. Thats why I don't watch ESPN after losses. Everybody has b...
