Cody Ranson singled to right scoring Ramirez and Weeks to make it 3-1. (Ramirez eventually left the game with a left quadricep strain.) Conrad then homered to right on a 3-1 pitch to give the Brewers a 5-1 advantage. .The Brewers had the opportunity to add some more insurance runs in the 8th with bases loaded and 2 outs but could not capitalize due to a Carlos Gomez grounder to end the inning.  Shaun Marcum threw 112 pitches through the first 7 innings giving up 5 hits and allowing 1 earned run but was replaced in the 8th by Kameron Loe due to his high pitch count. Loe pitched a shutout 8th inning and Jose Veras got the job done in the 9th to give Marcum and the Brewers the win.  The Brewers look to win the series tommorow afternoon as Michael Fiers (1-0) takes on James McDonald (4-2).</p>
