Bevo conquers the Mountainer’s
Posted on 5 Oct 2012 by Don Greene.
Bring on the new kids on the block. Texas will be facing West Virginia in Austin, TX. I must say a very good team. I predicted them to win the Big 12 conference at the start of the season. Well, they are going have to prove themselves this coming weekend. I doubt they will have the same outcome as last week scoring over 65 points and total offense over 800 yards. It all starts wit...

Ash wins

Looking good, Longhorns are 4 and 0 and may have stolen one in Oklahoma. Coach Gundy is disputing the finally touchdown by Texas on Joe Bergeron’s 2 yard score. He believes, Joe fumble and Okie State recovered the ball at the goal line. Guess, he will have to wait till next year to settle the score. But, anyway Texas won the game and headed back to Austin to celebrate. Ash played a...

Longhorn’s stampede the Cowboy’s
Posted on 29 Sep 2012 by Don Greene.
Well, Texas is on the road to Stillwater, Oklahoma to play Oklahoma State. Longhorns will be trying to prevent a 3 game win streak by the Cowboys. This will be the biggest test for the Longhorns this year. And a pivotal point for both teams, the winner may be in the driver's seat for a Conference title game. For Texas to win this game defensively they will have to prepare for ...

Approxiametly a quarter into the season and Texas is 3 and 0. They start conference play in one week against Oklahoma State. I like the fact that this game is played early in the season for weather reason. It should not be cold and snowy which is not great conditions for a Central Texas team. I believe the Longhorns have improved from last years team. I could see the team st...

Goodwin visits The White House
Posted on 17 Sep 2012 by Don Greene.
On Thursday the 13th, Marcus Goodwin was in Washington, D. C. meeting with the President, as an Olympian. Two days later, he was a star football player for the Texas Longhorns. The prior week to playing Ole Miss, he was named Most Valuable Player on the offense. That was based on his blocking ability. Marcus is an excellent athlete and turning out to be a very good football player. Th...

Bevo in Oxford
Posted on 13 Sep 2012 by Don Greene.
Well, its time to see where Texas stands. Longhorns are headed to play a S.E.C. football team in the Mississippi Rebels. These two teams have played six times with Texas leading the series. This is the first time the Longhorns will play in Oxford, Mississippi. I refer to Oxford as Manning place. It is where both Archie Manning and Eli Manning played college football. Ar...

Ash Whooping

The passing game finally showed up. And the defense played great held New Mexico scoreless. The Longhorns started off slowly with just 17 points in the first half but finished the game with 45 points. This just may be a slow starting team. For some reason they are not concentrating in the beginning of the game. That is something they must fix prior to playing the Oklahoma's and West...

Next stop for the Longhorns are the New Mexico Lobo's. Coming in with a 1-0 record. First time they have won an opener in years. Coached by Bob Davie former Aggie's and Irish leader. Coach Davie had been in the booth as a commentator for college football. A little trivia Dennis Franchione coached at New Mexico and recently lead Texas State in an upset over the Houston Cougars...

The Boyz are coming to town

Texas Longhorns opens its season on September 1, at 7:00p against Wyoming Cowboys. Correct the Cowboys are coming to town. That would be the boy’s thousand of miles north of Austin. They actually bring in a very good team. Wyoming finished 3rd last year in the Mountain West Conference behind Boise State and TCU. They finished the season with a lost in the Gilden New Mexico bowl ga...

Ash Time

Texas Longhorns opens the season against Wyoming at home. It looks like Texas will use two quarterbacks, David Ash and Case McCoy. I for one do not believe in a dual quarterback system. I cannot recall the last time a College or Professional team won a National Championship or Super Bowl with two quarterbacks. I have seen it tried with the Cowboys in the 70’s between Roger Staubach ...

Mighty Horns

I am a die hard Longhorn fan. Been bleeding burnt orange for as long as can I remember. I have great memories of Darrell Royals coaching those great teams in the 60′s and 70′s. I enjoyed watching older players such as Earl Campbell and the Jones boys. I really got a kick out of watching Ricky Williams run the ball and the Great Vince Young lead his team to the National Champ...
