Another Solid Victory
Posted on 2 Oct 2011 by Jon Lopez.
Welcome to another episode of “who's under center now”. I really don't like rotating quarterbacks but Mack Brown seems to have figured something out, He puts Ash “the running QB” in and he throws the ball, then Mack puts McCoy “the throwing QB” in and he hands the ball off. Nobody knows what the hell they're gonna do from play to play. Going into Saturday's...

That was Longhorn Football
Posted on 18 Sep 2011 by Jon Lopez.
I can't lie, even though I have been asking ( down right begging ) for McCoy to start and for Malcolm Brown to get the ball more I wasn't 100% sure what would happen. How about them Longhorns? That was the best first half I've seen out of them in a year and a half. I loved how the announcers on t.v. kept going on about how young UT is and how you need more experience. They forget it's college...

Rough Win
Posted on 11 Sep 2011 by Jon Lopez.
BYU is better than I thought they were. UT looked like a DII school. Gilbert just couldn't get on a roll. Whitaker was going no where. Props to BYU, they came out ready to play. I can't remember how many times I saw players on UT's defense looking at the sidelines as the ball is being snapped. Whats going on there? Gilberts decision making was horrible. Throwing down field into double coverage ...

Good Start

Ok, the Lognhorn Network kinda screwed my out of seeing the first game but I did catch some of it online ( thanks Jason ) so I have to go on what little I saw and the numbers. Gilbert didn't impress me but I did like what I saw. completion percentage needs to come up but hey, we got used to Colt completing 80% of his passes so in all fairness Gilbert doesn't have to be that good. Gilbert's po...

A&M ends UT’s season
Posted on 29 Nov 2010 by Jon Lopez.
UT's season is finally over. It's probably a good thing that they're not going to a bowl game because, 1. It would be a crappy bowl game, like the car care bowl or something. 2. UT would probably lose. At least Gilbert did show some good things against A&M. He was able to move the ball late but had a pass tipped and picked off. I think if Mack Brown sticks to wht he said and really take a l...

UT beats FAU
Posted on 21 Nov 2010 by Jon Lopez.
Wow, it's been awhile since I've gotten to write about a UT victory. It's about time. I'm not sure how proud to be, about a 51-17 win over FAU but I'll take it. Gilbert had his best game this season. 15-21 for 263 yards and 2 touchdowns. Plus 60 yards rushing and NO interceptions. I know, it's FAU but it's signs of progression. It helps when you have a receiver that can beat cornerbacks in a ju...

UT v.s. FAU
Posted on 18 Nov 2010 by Jon Lopez.
Ok, four losses in a row and now they wellcome FAU to Austin. If UT losses, I'll lose my mind. UT should win this game. FAU is not a very good team, only gaining 102 yards on the ground and just under 200 yards passing. FAU scores 18 points per game but give up 24 points per game. Should UT win? YES. Will UT win? I have no clue. depends on which Longhorn team shows up. I'm thinking that UT is g...

UT drops 4th in a row
Posted on 15 Nov 2010 by Jon Lopez.
I din't get to see the first hand cuase i was at the Pacquiao fight in Arlington so I'm goin on what I see in the stats. I know i should've recorded it, bite me. From the looks of it, the Cowboys were in control the whole way. Changes need to be made and it may have to start at quarter back. Gilbert is just not getting it done. 202 yards and 1 interception is not gonna win games. It's not all h...

UT v.s. Oklahoma State
Posted on 11 Nov 2010 by Jon Lopez.
Saturday night the Longhorns hosts the 10th ranked team in the country, Oklahoma State. Oh boy. In the basketball league i play in, it costs $40 to forfeit, UT should ask the NCAA how much it would cost for them. This game has the potential to be embarrassing. Like the Nebraska game, key players need to step up. The Cowboys throw for over 350 yards per game while scoring over 45pts per game. Li...

Another loss for UT
Posted on 7 Nov 2010 by Jon Lopez.
Mack Brown is gonna start earning his money this week in Austin. This Longhorn team is most likely the worst team Mack has had since coming to UT. Last night there was no defense, hardly any offense and I'm not gonna talk about special teams or the lack there of. 5 picks thown by Gilbert. I'm not sure but I think it's due mostly to the fact that he stares down his receivers. Thats how linemen t...

UT v.s. Iowa State
Posted on 21 Oct 2010 by Jon Lopez.
UT's confidence should be the highest that it's been all year, coming off the win over Nebraska. With that said, UT hosts 3-4 Iowa State in what probably won't be an instant classic but another game for UT to improve. Iowa State dosen't pass for much ( 167yds per game) and they don't run for much (140 yds per game). The Longhorns shouldn't have to much trouble with a team that scores ten points...
