Overcoming Adversity; Marshall – Ohio State
Posted on 2 Sep 2010 by Rebekah Edwards.
“I've never known anybody to achieve anything without overcoming adversity.” -Lou Holtz The Ohio State Buckeyes have experienced plenty of adversity in seasons past. Florida, LSU and Texas in bowl play and falling to big and not so dominate teams (Purdue) in regular season play. The inability to win the big games created nationwide ridicule beyond keyboard fistfights and alcohol ind...

A Memorable season begins in a city that memories thrive
Posted on 2 Sep 2010 by James Hagedorn.
A season with high hopes begins in Las Vegas Nevada, as the Wisconsin Badgers take on the UNLV Rebels. Las Vegas isnt too far from another place the badgers would like to play this year, Glendale Arizona, or Pasadena California. With most of their core returning, and a very promising running back, the badgers could revisit a city they haven't been since 1999. ...

I’m NOT smelling roses…
Posted on 1 Sep 2010 by Chad Seely.
As much as I want to be the homer I usually am when it comes to sports, I'm refraining with the Badgers this year…at least a little bit. I do think Bucky beats Ohio State under the lights October 16th at Camp Randall but I see them losing to Iowa the following week in a tough contest. That being said, I think the Badgers go 11-1 overall with a 7-1 record in the Big Ten. This is the...

Which QB will start? Is there a new Rich Rod?
Posted on 31 Aug 2010 by Jason Pinter.
The first Michigan football press conference started on Monday with four players speaking first followed by Coach Rodriguez. Wide Receiver Roy Roundtree started things off, and before you knew it the questions about quarterback started flying. “Who is going to start at QB?” “Who do you think has the slight advantage?” “Who can throw the ball the hardest? Every reporter in attendance w...

Iowa Hawkeyes Season Preview 2010
Posted on 31 Aug 2010 by Debbie Baratz.
I'll admit it, my expectations are high for Iowa's upcoming season. I think it's risky to feel that way, but after last year's successful one and a lot of preseason hype, it's hard not to get caught up in the upcoming season. I think a lot will ride on senior quarterback Ricky Stanzi. I have a love-hate relationship with him. When he's good, he's good but when he's bad, it's brutal to watch. ...

Game 1 Preview: MSU vs. WMU
Posted on 30 Aug 2010 by David Lesmeister.
The college football season kicks off this Saturday, as Michigan State welcomes Western Michigan to East Lansing. I have been waiting impatiently for this day to come because I am so sick of watching ESPN and hearing about what LeBron James had for dinner or what Brett Favre is doing in Mississippi, while retiring or not retiring, again and again. This season is a welcomed breath of fresh air a...

Michigan Wolverines 2010 Preview
Posted on 27 Aug 2010 by Nick English.
And we're off….well, almost. The most exciting time of the year is less than a week away. That's right folks, college football is here. I have been tasked with blogging about a team that I rooted for as a child and young adult….The Michigan Wolverines. This is my first time ever blogging and I hope to give you a little insight and a little humor over the next few months. And from lo...

The BIGGER and Better “Big House”
Posted on 27 Aug 2010 by Jason Pinter.
Last week I got my first glimpse of the “New Big House.” After three years of renovations, the “Big House” finally made the jump to the 21st century, while reclaiming the title of the largest stadium in the United States for college or professional football. By adding top layers to the stadium with 83 luxury boxes and 3,200 club seats, the” Big House” now holds 109,901 at full capac...

Big Time Expectations
Posted on 26 Aug 2010 by Chad Seely.
As summer practices close for the Wisconsin Badgers football team, expectations for the 2010 season are heating up. Coming off a convincing victory in the Champs Sports Bowl over a tough Miami squad has pushed this years Badgers squad into the Big Ten limelight. Coach Brett Bielema enters his 5th season at helm for the Badgers with a 38-14 record. It is Bielema's job to have this team ...

Sparty Defensive Preview
Posted on 24 Aug 2010 by David Lesmeister.
The defense for Michigan State will have to play well in order for the Spartans to be that dark horse in the Big Ten. We know the offense is going to score a ton of points and the defense must be able to hold their own and stop the other team when needed (especially at the end of the game!). This seems to be a theme with MSU football, but this year I believe the defense will come to play week i...

Are the Nittany Lions ready to roar?
Posted on 20 Aug 2010 by Stephanie Geosits.
This season could be painful for Penn State football. It will be challenging at the very least. Throughout the off-season reports and rumors have swirled about Joe Paterno's health. Will he be on the sidelines for all of the games? If it's physically possible, he will be there, but if what people are saying is true, JoePa is showing his age more than ever before. I do know this – he's not...

2010 Big 10 Predictions
Posted on 20 Aug 2010 by Adrian Fedkiw.
Hate it or love it the Ohio State Buckeyes are on top, and they have been since coach Jim Tressel took the reigns. Since 2002, their National Championship year, the Buckeyes have won at least a share of the Big 10 Conference Title 6 out of the 8 years, and there's no reason to think it won't be 7 out of 9 after this season. Except this year, Ohio State is looking for more than just a Big 1...
