Miami Clips Eastern Michigan
Posted on 12 Sep 2010 by Michael Solomon.
The 12,857 people that attended the Miami-Eastern Michigan game on Saturday saw something that has not happened very much lately in RedHawk football. A win. Although most of the fans did not stay until the end due to rain that started midway through the second quarter, the win over the Eagles 28-21 was a big one for Miami, who moved to 1-1 on the season, and 1-0 in the MAC. The story of the gam...

Owls Win 1st OT Game in School History
Posted on 10 Sep 2010 by Adrian Fedkiw.
The Temple Owls have an all-time record of 1-6 in overtime periods. That one win came last night. After a CMU Ryan Radcliff interception, the Owls played conservatively. They ran it a few times setting up Brandon McManus for the game-winning 30 yard field-goal. For the 1st time since 1981, the Owls are 2-0. The Chippewas may not have Dan LeFevour chucking it around anymore, but this...

A Great, Badly Played, Game

“If the game comes down to field goals you have to give Temple the edge.” Those words were written by me on Tuesday in previewing the CMU-Temple game, and even though both kickers missed field goals, it was the made field goal in overtime that was the difference in the game as Temple beats CMU 13-10 in a very good game, though it was not well played at all. Mistakes by both teams at...

The Miami RedHawks football team returns home for an early conference clash with the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Saturday afternoon at Yager Stadium, after opening on the road against Florida. After a solid and unexpected showing against the Gators in week one, Miami looks to get their home and conference records off to a strong start against the Eagles. Eastern Michigan is coming to Oxford off ...

Shift of Power in the MAC???
Posted on 8 Sep 2010 by Adrian Fedkiw.
Quick Recap of Villanova I was really busy last week (had some job interviews to prepare for) so I wasn’t able to truly watch and study this game until this morning. If you didn’t know, Temple won 31-24 with a last second field goal with 2 seconds left. (They scored a touchdown on the next kickoff after Nova failed with their laterals). Basically, the summary of the game was special te...

Don’t Sing it… Bring it

When you win 3 conference titles in four years all eyes are on you, every team gets up when they play you. When a team feels they are the new team to beat, they talk smack about how it is your turn to step aside, and this is their year. CMU has been that team in the MAC for the last four years, and everyone else has been trying to knock them off. Temple is the first MAC team that gets a chance...

Miami Impresses in Opener vs. Florida
Posted on 5 Sep 2010 by Michael Solomon.
There was a moment on Saturday when it looked like Miami could win, yeah that’s right I said WIN against Florida. No one predicted the outcome of what happened in the Miami-Florida game on Saturday. Sure, some people might have said that it would be close until the end, but no one predicted that the mighty, no anemic, Florida offense would have a dismal 26 total yards entering the fourth quar...

Chippewa’s Start the Enos Era with Shutout Win
Posted on 3 Sep 2010 by Steve Schwanda.
The first game of any season is usually a little sloppy. You usually don’t see the best your team has to offer. I sure hope that is the case for CMU football this year. The good news CMU beat Hampton 33-0 in the first game for new head coach Dan Enos and the first career start for QB Ryan Radcliff, however they hardly looked dominate against a team that was extremely ov...

Miami RedHawks vs. Florida Gators Preview

Miami football will no doubt face its toughest test in years when they head into Gainesville on Saturday afternoon, looking to put a dismal 1-11 record a year ago behind them. Facing Florida on their home turf might not be the best way to start off a new season for the RedHawks, who are hoping to win more games this year than the last two years combined (3). Miami’s 2010 team possesses a lot ...

CMU vs Hampton game preview

The Coach Enos era begins in Mt Pleasant on Thursday night against Hampton. A team from the division formally known as 1-AA. This is a game of course you have to win. Sure you have a new QB, and a new coach bringing in a new system, but there is still enough talent left from a team that went 12-2 last year, that you can’t lose your home opener to a non D1-A team. Now because this game come...

Miami RedHawks Football Preview 2010

It seems so hard to believe that only seven years ago Miami was on top of the mid-major world, finishing the season at 10-2 (8-0 in the MAC) and earning a trip to the GMAC bowl against Louisville. Sure they had a quarterback by the name of Ben Roethlisberger, but from then on Miami has struggled to regain the form that they once were used to. After just three wins in two seasons (2008-09), the ...

We are one week away from college football season officially starting. On Thursday September 2nd a few teams will kick off the first weekend of college football a few days early. One of those teams is Central Michigan, who will host Hampton. The Chippewa’s are coming off their most successful football season since joining division 1 in the mid 70’s. A 12-2 record,...
