Temple at Army Preview
Posted on 30 Sep 2010 by Adrian Fedkiw.
It’s always fun when the Owls match-up against one of the service academies. There’s something about the old-school triple option that’s so intriguing to watch. As expected, Army is top 10 in rushing yards, averaging 274.8 yards per game. They’ve ran the ball 242 times compared to just 33 pass attempts. To make the option work, you must have a quarterback that reads the opposing...

Sometimes, in this instance, a loss can show a program's promise and continuing progress. Above are the last five meetings between Penn State and Temple. As you can see, it really hasn't been close. The meeting this past Satu...

Temple at Penn State Preview
Posted on 24 Sep 2010 by Adrian Fedkiw.
1941 is the last time Temple has beaten Penn State. Over recent years, Penn State has taken the Owls behind the woodshed and whipped them pretty good. Penn State holds a 34-3-1 all-time series advantage over the Cherry and White. This year feels different. The Owls got their signature win last week over Uconn. I’m by no means predicting a win, but I think Temple can hang in it until t...

Temple 3-0 for the 1st Time since ’79
Posted on 20 Sep 2010 by Adrian Fedkiw.
The Temple football program took the next step in its journey to consistent success. With a dominating fourth quarter, the Owls soared to a 3-0 start for the first time since 1979. It was a total team effort as they outscored UConn 16-0 in the final stanza to take the game 30-16. Two key plays in the 4th quarter led to the downfall of the Huskies. 2009 MAC Defensive Player of the Year DE Ad...

TU vs Uconn Wk 3 Preview- Bruce Francis Still Caught the Ball
Posted on 16 Sep 2010 by Adrian Fedkiw.
The Connecticut game this coming Saturday will show how much the Temple football team has progressed over recent years. In 2007 and 2008 these two programs met in two highly contested games. Uconn came out on top on both occasions. They defeated Temple at home in 2007 (22-17) and beat Temple at the Linc in 2008 (12-9 ot). If Temple fans recall, the 2007 game was very controversial. I ...

Owls Win 1st OT Game in School History
Posted on 10 Sep 2010 by Adrian Fedkiw.
The Temple Owls have an all-time record of 1-6 in overtime periods. That one win came last night. After a CMU Ryan Radcliff interception, the Owls played conservatively. They ran it a few times setting up Brandon McManus for the game-winning 30 yard field-goal. For the 1st time since 1981, the Owls are 2-0. The Chippewas may not have Dan LeFevour chucking it around anymore, but this...

Shift of Power in the MAC???
Posted on 8 Sep 2010 by Adrian Fedkiw.
Quick Recap of Villanova I was really busy last week (had some job interviews to prepare for) so I wasn’t able to truly watch and study this game until this morning. If you didn’t know, Temple won 31-24 with a last second field goal with 2 seconds left. (They scored a touchdown on the next kickoff after Nova failed with their laterals). Basically, the summary of the game was special te...
