Ken Flo Announces Retirement
Posted on 3 Jun 2012 by Mike Schlottman.
As of last Thursday night, Kenny Florian officially announced his retirement from the UFC. He has been struggling with a back injury and stated that if he can't go out and train and perform at 100% then it's time to hang it up. He will stick around the UFC scene, however, as he is the co-host of UFC Tonight on FUEL TV. The 9 year MMA vet posted a career record of 14-6 and was the only UFC f...

UFC 146: The Heavies Don’t “Weight”
Posted on 28 May 2012 by Amanda Gloster.
The much anticipated all heavyweight main card event held Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas was nothing short of epic. For the first time in UFC history, the entire main card consisted of heavyweight fighters, this not being an easy feat following the removal of Alistair “The Demolition Man” Overeem in early April due to failed drug testing. Short...

10 days and Counting: UFC Returns to Prime time
Posted on 4 Apr 2012 by Amanda Gloster.
It's has been almost a full 2 months since we've seen a televised card due to the rescheduling of UFC 145, and as much as I am enjoying TUF Brasil, I have to admit it feels like bloody, bashed up Christmas is on it's way, and my wish list is plastered with dreams of strikes, kicks and take-towns. UFC on Fuel TV 2 is the first UFC event ever to take place in Sweden and will showcase a match up...

UFC 146 Presser: Go Heavyweight, or go Home!
Posted on 27 Mar 2012 by Amanda Gloster.
“We actually finish fights if you look at the percentages. Everyone loves the home-run in baseball and the slam dunk in basketball, that's what heavyweights bring,” was the response Roy “Big Country” Nelson gave when fielding the question “What brings the excitement to the heavyweight class?” at the UFC 146 press conference held in the lobby at the MGM Gran...

The 145 Run-Around: Jones vs Evans
Posted on 24 Mar 2012 by Amanda Gloster.
UFC 145 was originally slotted for March 24, 2012 at the Bell Centre in Montreal; however, was later pulled due to what some sources claim was an inability on behalf of the UFC to sign a champion for the title fight, and what others refer to as a “scheduling conflict.” Whatever the real reason the general public will never know, but it is my suspicion that this change was a direct...

UFC Fight Night 25: Shields Vs. Ellenberger Preview
Posted on 16 Sep 2011 by Jason Comack.
Jake Shields Vs. Jake Ellenberger Jake Shields is a favorite in this fight, and he probably deserves to be. However, no one should discredit Jake Ellenberger's chances on winning. Despite being 4-1 in the UFC (24-5 overall) Ellenberger is somehow underrated. His only loss came to current welterweight championship contender Carlos Condit, in a fight Ellenberger narrowly lost. In the fight vs. Co...

UFC 137: Nick Diaz Removed From Main Event
Posted on 7 Sep 2011 by Jason Comack.
Nick Diaz has always been a little bit of a loose cannon. He loathes media appearances, he says things that are often incoherent and there was that one time he started a brawl in Strikeforce. When the UFC signed Nick Diaz they know the inherent risks that came with signing him. That one day he may just go off the deep end. Today was that day. If Major League Baseball has “Manny bein...

Following his title win over Shogun Rua on Saturday night at UFC 128, Jon Jones stood face to face in the octagon with friend and former training partner, Rashad Evans. Over the last year of training and spending free time together the two fighters had grown close. In mixed martial arts however, especially when it comes to world titles, friends can quickly become enemies and brothers can beco...

The Future Has Arrived
Posted on 20 Mar 2011 by Chris Murphy.
Jon “Bones” Jones What to say about this guy. Well, same as many people, I have been watching this kid since he first broke into the big time back at UFC 87. Up until tonight, he was stopping some mediocre competitors, including Ryan Bader, who is a great athlete and has the potential to be at the top, but isn't there yet. Tonight he got his truest test to date. Shogun. A legend. ...
