Put. That Coffee. Down. Lidge… Coffee

It makes me feel so proud that the Philadelphia Phillies took my advice and made the move to put 256-game winner Jamie Moyer into the bullpen. Well, there may have been a few other “experts” who chimed in to GM Ruben Amaro, but I’m not going to waste my time to try and figure out who they are. I’m moving on to my next bold decision for the organization: Shut down Brad ...

This past weekend, the Phillies were swept by division rivals, the Florida Marlins. The Phils lead in the NL East shrank from seven to four games in just under 72 hours. For the second start in a row, Joe Blanton pitched another quality outing, going six and 2/3 innings and giving up three runs. The San Francisco Giants...

The Philadelphia Phillies acquired Lee along with outfielder Ben Francisco for four top prospects: pitchers Carlos Carrasco and Jason Knapp, catcher Lou Marson, and shortstop Jason Donald. This looks like a win-win situation for both clubs: Indians – They get two major league-ready pl...

Phillies Prepare for Season
Posted on 12 Mar 2009 by Steve Quinto.
It was a very entertaining offseason for the World Series Champions, with a pitcher being suspended 50 games for testing positive for a banned substance (J.C. Romero), two players with offseason surgery (Chase Utley and Pedro Feliz), to a pitcher having his assets frozen due to the Stanford scandal and received an undisclosed contract advance from the team (Scott Eyre). With a pitching rotation...
