The nightmare is over. The crazy game of hopscotch that Atlanta has been on the past week-and-a-half ended with a convincing 100-77 victory over the Toronto Raptors. Hawks halfway through trip with Detroit

Tonight is the halfway point of Atlanta's up and down (or north and south) five game road trip. They beat Milwaukee and then lost to San Antonio (extending the Hawks' futility down there to fifteen seasons), before bouncing up to take on Detroit at the Palace. Hawks lose to Sixers

A four game winning streak went down in flames as Atlanta lost to the resurgent 76ers 90-76. This was the first loss since Al Horford went down and comes on the front end of a back-to-back. Atlanta will hustle to the airport to get back home and play Cleveland tomorrow night. After that will be a critical five-game road trip. Proving that Atlanta's 3-1 season win over Orlando was no fluke, the Hawks went to Orlando and took the first game of their first round series with the Magic by a 103-93 score. Here is the strategy. About a week ago, I was happy with the Hawks for beating Boston at home. It was a statement win, something that had been lacking all season. What a different a week makes. Since that landmark win, the Hawks have been limping their way through the rest of the schedule. The latest pockmark was a 98-90 loss to Miami.
