The Detroit Pistons beat the Atlanta Hawks at the Palace of Auburn Hills Friday 85-84, extending their winning streak to four games. Fourth-year forward Austin Daye gave the Pistons a big boost as he scored 20 points and pulled down six boards off the bench. Center Greg Monroe had a rough shooting night, but had 18 points and nine rebounds on the day. The Pistons starting five of Monroe, Knight...

Clutch layup gives Pistons third win of season
Posted on 24 Nov 2012 by Mark Kim.
With the game on the line, Brandon Knight made a key layup with 7.8 seconds left in the game to lift the Pistons to a 91-90 victory against the Toronto Raptors. Knight had a solid day with 16 points while making six out of eight field goals, but the Pistons were led today by the “twin tower” combo of Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond. Monroe scored 19 points while pulling down 11 rebo...

Pistons actually win a game
Posted on 14 Nov 2012 by Mark Kim.
After a horrific 0-8 start to the season, the Detroit Pistons go out and roll over the Philadelphia 76ers by the score of 94-76. The game was dominated by Pistons center Greg Monroe, who put a monster stat line with 19 points and 18 rebounds while dishing out six dimes. The Pistons dominated on the glass, large in part to the effort Monroe put up, against the 76ers as the Pistons grabbed 19 mor...

Airball costs Pistons game
Posted on 3 Nov 2012 by Mark Kim.
With a missed free throw by Sebastian Telfair with 3.6 seconds left in the game, Brandon Knight chucked up a three and airballed it, costing the Pistons the game as the Pistons lose to the Suns, 92-89. The Pistons trailed 54-46 at the half, but came back only to come up just short of the win. Once again, the Pistons best scoring option Rodney Stuckey played horribly with only one point during t...

Fear the Beard

James Harden showed Rockets fans he is going to play like the franchise player he was paid with me. Unfortunately for Pistons fans, they were his first victims as the Pistons fell to the new-look Houston Rockets 105-96. The Pistons suffered from a dismal start from Rodney Stuckey who only had nine points on 1-10 shooting. Stuckey, after being shifted to shooting guard, was supposed to be the ...

Detroit Pistons Summer League Performance Evaluation
Posted on 19 Jul 2012 by Lauren Beasley.
It's tough to gain much information and truly evaluate a team just from NBA summer league games but in this case it is safe to say the Detroit Pistons have a promising future. The Detroit Pistons concluded Orlando Pro Summer League play with a 4-1 record. The only team they lost to was the Oklahoma City Thunder but I look at more than just the win and loss column. I first pay attention to the r...

The Detroit Pistons had three picks in this draft, the 9th pick, the 39th pick and the 44th pick. The Pistons kept all picks and did not make any moves to trade them or etc. Now let’s start with the Pistons first pick. Pistons draft...

Detroit Pistons: Pre-Draft Needs and Expectations
Posted on 26 Jun 2012 by Lauren Beasley.
It’s almost time for the NBA Draft and it’s almost time for the Detroit Pistons to make some tough decisions in this year’s NBA draft. Pistons don’t have the best draft history; I mean can you say Darko Milicic…..draft bust! However it’s a new day and let’s hope the Pistons front office will do a better job in this year's draft. Now the Detroit Pistons have three picks in this dra...

Laimbeer or Thomas?
Posted on 7 Jun 2011 by Colton Turnquist.
The shortlist of coaches to takeover the head coaching position in Detroit has been narrowed down to four candidates: Mike Woodson, Bill Laimbeer, Isiah Thomas and Kelvin Samspon. Lets be honest, Kelvin Sampson belongs no where near the NBA, he struggled in college despite a few good years in Oklahoma. I wouldn't exactly be excited about this coming season as we would have no clue what to expec...

Posted on 18 May 2011 by Colton Turnquist.
With the NBA Draft Lottery over, the Detroit Pistons find themselves with the eighth pick in the NBA Draft in June. A position they were more than likely expecting to end up in. The Cleveland Cavaliers were fortunate enough land the number one pick in the draft, via the LA Clippers, the draft pick only had a 2.8% chance of getting the first pick. The Cavaliers also have the fortune of having th...
