AS LOSSES MOUNT, THE LOSS OF HASLEM IS THE BIGGEST
Posted on 23 Nov 2010 by Sean Eckhardt.
The Miami Heat have lost back-to-back games against inferior teams. They lost a close game on Saturday night to the Memphis Grizzlies. Last night against the Indiana Pacers, Miami was blown out at home. Both of these were very bad losses, but neither compares to losing forward Udonis Haslem to a torn foot tendon during that Memphis game. Size and physical play down low h...

Heat Fans Need to Chill
Posted on 20 Nov 2010 by Sean Eckhardt.
As Chris Bosh said, the players want to chill, while coach Eric Spoelstra wants to drive them hard. They are both right. The perfect mix is almost always a compromise. The bottom line is that Miami came out of the game with a win on Friday night. The other good news is that the “tres grande” and co can't really celebrate anything, as they will be playing in Memphis...

BOSH AND HEAT DOMINATE UNDERSIZED SUNS
Posted on 18 Nov 2010 by Sean Eckhardt.
So much for trading Chris Bosh. Say goodbye to all the criticism of the Heat 3. At least for today. Miami could do no wrong on Wednesday night, thoroughly trouncing the Phoenix Suns, 123-96, and it wasn't even that close. The Heat, not the Suns had tallied 100 points by the end of the third quarter. Chris Bosh had 35 of those points. This is the Miami team everyone expected...

HEAT SURVIVE
Posted on 14 Nov 2010 by Sean Eckhardt.
There is only one certainty in Miami. The Heat will not win surpass the 72-10 mark posted by the Chicago Bulls in the 95-96 season. At least not this year. Miami, however, will represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals. They may not be the #1 seed in the east and they may not beat the Lakers, but they will come out of the east. Saturday night against the Toronto...

SOMEBODY CALL ALONZO MOURNING
Posted on 12 Nov 2010 by Sean Eckhardt.
The Miami Heat can't beat the Boston Celtics. Period. It doesn't matter if it's the regular season or the playoffs. It doesn't matter if they have LeBron James or not. Over the last two seasons the Celtics are 9-1 against Miami. Gamblers would call that a lock, not just a trend. Fans of other teams and critics everywhere are smiling. Apparently, this team is more ordina...

MIAMI CHOKES AT HOME AGAINST JAZZ
Posted on 10 Nov 2010 by Sean Eckhardt.
There is no other way to describe what happened to the Heat on Tuesday night. If you have two of the best players on the planet, are playing at home, and as a team blow a twenty-plus point lead, you have choked. Yes, Miami had trouble with another elite point guard. Yes, the Heat had trouble with a power forward again, but this one is certainly not considered elite. He scored p...

Posted on 26 Oct 2010 by Sean Eckhardt.
The NBA in October is usually met with a collective yawn. Sure, some fans will be excited to see the season get underway, but the national focus for most sports fans is on the NFL and the World Series. This year is different though. Tonight is different. The Miami Heat drew the focus of the sports world back in July, with an unprecedented harvesting of what many people believe ...

Posted on 15 Oct 2010 by Sean Eckhardt.
The build-up for the superstar trio of Wade, James, and Bosh has been expectedly huge. Fans in Miami are beyond pumped, while most NBA fans in other cities resent the Heat and all the attention that has been poured upon them. Meanwhile, the players themselves just wanted to get on the court. Unfortunately, three minutes into the preseason Dwyane Wade went down with a strained ham...

The expectations for this Miami Heat team have been unthinkably high, even before they opened training camp this week. Now their first public viewing is only a few days away. The Heat open up the preseason on Tuesday night against the Detroit Pistons. All eyes will be on Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh. All ears however, might be on LeBron James. Posted on 6 Sep 2010 by Sean Eckhardt.
The superteam that has yet to play a game may have to make some more roster tweaks. Fans and experts alike have been surprised by the supporting cast Pat Riley has been able to put together around the trio of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh. That cast however, might have to be altered a little bit due to injury. Both of the current point guards on the roster, Carlos Arro...
