Grizzlies Beat Clippers, Force Game 7
Posted on 12 May 2012 by Taylor Smith.
Even after the Los Angeles Clippers snuck past the Memphis Grizzlies in overtime to take a 3-1 series lead last Monday night, the job didn't feel finished. Based on the wild, neck-and-neck nature of this series, how could it? Now, after blowing an eight-point fourth quarter lead in a must-win, home close-out game, the uneasy feeling that this thing may indeed be over is beginning to creep in fo...

Chance Encounter: Celtics vs 76ers Playoff Preview
Posted on 11 May 2012 by Warren Shaw.
The Boston Celtics will open up their second round playoff series at home against the Philadelphia 76′ers. Boston finished a closely contested series with the Atlanta Hawks 4-2 while Philly surprised the number 1 seeded Chicago Bulls 4-2 as well. Nobody could have seen this coming, and if they did then its likely they own a psychic service with commercials running on late night television...

Team Builder…Celtics escape the Hawks 83-80 and advance to round 2
Posted on 11 May 2012 by Warren Shaw.
If your a fan of either the Boston Celtics or Atlanta Hawks then you probably have nubs for fingers and maybe even toes right now. Boston narrowly escaped a prideful Atlanta team 83-80 to win their first round series 4-2. The Celtics scraped together a win behind grit, hustle, good old fashioned luck, and a vintage Kevin Garnett performance. KG might have played his best game in a Celtics unifo...

Dreams and Heartaches, Celtics take the Hawks out of the Skies 83-80

Pierce drives against the Hawks It was tough, it was gritty, it was exciting, it was disappointing, but it was playoff basketball. Tonight the Celtics ended any dreams the Hawks had of advancing to the 2nd round as Boston will advance and face the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference Semi-finals. The hawks fought valliantly and despite the big leads and defecits, this was a one possess...

Hawks got bounced by Celts
Posted on 10 May 2012 by John Morgo.
After the rout that Boston inflicted on Atlanta in Game 4, nobody would have blamed the Hawks for playing dead in Game 5 and starting summer early. Give the Hawks credit for gutting out a victory. But they couldn't gut out a similar victory in Game 6. The result is summer vacation in the form of an 83-80 loss. Boston now advances and will play Philly in the semis. For Atlanta, Larry Drew rode h...

Crisis Masked By Movement

Trapeze dancers, tight rope walkers, your bowels, and Mel Gibson. What do they have in common? They all thrive on a degree of physical and/or mental control. Do you know someone that exhibits a persona of control, but when they lose control, it’s heartbreaking, pathetic, and unfathomable how they could dip so low? The Warriors part owner, Joe Lacob, is accustomed to having control, but when h...

2011-12 Knicks season review: a team to be proud of
Posted on 9 May 2012 by Michael Burke.
The 2012 New York Knicks were not a championship team. Hell, they didn’t even win the Atlantic Division. To make matters even worse, they were knocked out of the NBA Playoffs in the first round. All of these facts may make the 2012 campaign seem like a failure for a team that had Carmelo Anthony, Amar’e Stoudemire, and Tyson Chandler, but it was most certainly not. For the first time in a l...

Lakeshow Drops The Ball Against The Nuggets
Posted on 9 May 2012 by Arthur Kai.
The Los Angeles Lakers squander a big opportunity to finish off the Denver Nuggets, losing Game 5, 102-99 at the Staples Center. Besides the flashback “I am The Black Mamba” performance by Kobe Bryant, the rest of the Lakeshow had an uninspired night of play to forget. Even Bryant's 43 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists effort couldn't overcome the lethargic play of his team. “I...

LEBRON VS WADE
Posted on 9 May 2012 by Sean Eckhardt.
Tonight the Miami Heat will host the New York Knicks in Game 5 of their 1st round playoff series, and barring something catastrophic, will close it out at home. While the series should end tonight, the past two days have been anything but calm. Since Miami fell to the Knicks at MSG on Sunday, both the local and national media have been trying putting heat on the Heat, specifically about wha...

Mistakes and Heroics…Hawks hold off the Celtics 87-86
Posted on 9 May 2012 by Warren Shaw.
Al Horford could do no wrong and the Boston Celtics missed an opportunity to rest their broken bodies in an 87-86 defeat at the hands of the Hawks. Horford started for the first time since January and provided Atlanta with everything they have been missing in this series: toughness, inside-scoring, and most importantly passion for the game. “I wanted to bring that energy to the team,̶...

Long on Fight short on Talent…Magic’s playoff run ends at hands of the Pacers
Posted on 8 May 2012 by Warren Shaw.
This was expected. The Indiana Pacers have moved on to the second round of the NBA playoffs after defeating the Orlando Magic 105-87 in Game 5 Tuesday night. The game was lost because Orlando simply ran out of out gas but never out of fight in the final quarter. The Pacers showed a killer instinct running the Magic out of the building 36-16 in the fourth quarter. Indiana shot 75% in the final f...
