Rocky start to the Rodeo Road Trip
Posted on 4 Feb 2011 by Jon Lopez.
The Rodeo Road Trip started with a some what embarrassing loss to Portland, a team that is currently sitting in the 8th spot in the west. So if there isn't any shake ups,Memphis and Phoenix could make a run, Portland would come to San Antonio in the first round of the playoffs. A win would have sent a nice message to the Trailblazers. The silver lining from the loss is that Aldridge won't have ...

Spurs surprise then get shocked
Posted on 24 Jan 2011 by Jon Lopez.
Going into the Knicks game Friday, I thought we might see a replay of the first matchup. The Spurs had other ideas. Like actually playing defense against the Knicks. Holy Crap! What an idea! Defense tends to work against teams that don't play any. So with that solid victory we all knew a let down against the Hornets was coming right? I didn't think so. That game really sucked. Give the Hornets ...

Big games for the Spurs
Posted on 18 Jan 2011 by Jon Lopez.
On my way up to my physical therapist's office, I look across the street at the Spurs practice facility and I wonder if coach POP is making sure the Spurs aren't looking past Toronto at New York. Toronto is another young athletic team that can pose match up problems for the Spurs. Yeah the Knicks game is more important and they shouldn't have to many problems with the Raptors. With next two ho...

Spurs still on top
Posted on 10 Jan 2011 by Jon Lopez.
I've missed the last few weeks due to injury but I've still watched every game and this what I see goin on. The Spurs played their best basketball against the Lakers who were struggling so the rematch should a good one to watch. Hill and Blair are starting to find their groove but the team seems be hitting the dog days of the season which you could see on their last road trip. the Knicks and Ce...

Spurs off to best start

Well, the loss to the Clippers sucked but these things happen. This Clippers team won't just rollover and quit, which is a good thing for that franchise. Another close game with the T'Wolves. So much talent on that team but no finisher. Then, a complete domination of the Hornets was a welcome sight on Sunday. When the Spurs show up from the begining of the game on through the fourth, the Spurs ...

Spurs fall, then pick right back up
Posted on 29 Nov 2010 by Jon Lopez.
Well the streak is over. What sucks is that the loss was to Dallas. Th spurs were right there but the turnovers and lack of ball movement are seemed to kill any chance of winning besides the fact the defense wasn't very good. Sunday the Spurs played on the road in New Orleans at 2:00pm in the afternoon. Who makes these schedules? The first half was sad. Down 17 points at halftime is not where y...

Spurs keep winning

This was a good one. Starting with Utah, the toughest game the Spurs have had thus far. The game was tough but the Spurs never trailed. They did that against a team that loves to play from behind. That speaks to the defensive potential that the Spurs have. The big are getting close to becoming the big four. RJ is having a great start to the season and is playing big in big situations. Spurs won...

Spurs Basketball

Granted, the Bulls didn't have Carlos Boozer but D'rose gave the Spurs all they could handle. TP9 had a really good game despite the news of his divorce coming out before the game. The Bulls jumped out to an early lead, up to 15 points. The Spurs hung in and closed the gap a little by half time. The first half looked like a replay of the OKC game. Once again, the defense clamped down in the thi...

Spurs looking good

The Spurs had their first back to back games this weekend and i'll admit, they surprised me. I didn't get to see the game Saturday against the 76ers but it looks like Blair had his first real good game of the year. I did get home to see the game Sunday night against OKC. This game I was looking forward to but it also had me worried. It was the best team the Spurs have faced since the Hornets an...

Spurs still a little sloppy.

Monday night the Spurs went to Charlotte and won a tougher game than what it should have. Turnovers are going to be an issue all year. Against team like the Bobcats, the Spurs can get away with that but not against the top teir teams. There is also to many possesions were the Spurs don't move the ball and some body is playing one on one. Thats not how they play on offense. It was good o see tha...

Spurs win OT

Last year it seemed like the Spurs were every teams' first win of the season. This year, three teams Pacers, Clippers and the Rockets have had that chance. They have failed. This Spurs team is not gonna just give you a game this year. Nope. You're gonna have to take it. The fight I saw in them last night was something that wasn't there a season ago. When a teams top players are out the Spurs wo...

Spurs, Good but Sloppy

Thee Spurs are off to a decent 2-1 start but turnovers sre still a big problem. 15.3 turnovers per game has to come down, good thing its early. Against the Pacers, the Spurs did what Popovich wants them to do this year and thats run. 122 points on opening night is really good but the defense still has problems. The spurs can't give up 109 points to teams like the Pacers. Saturday night against...
