Falcons take flight
Posted on 19 Sep 2010 by Michael Adamec.
Finally the Falcons of 2010 have arrived. I know it is only week two but this is how I expected the Falcons to play in week one. Matty “Ice” was 21 of 32 for 225 and 3 TD's. A rushing attack that had 221 yards. A Defense that had 3 interceptions and 2 sacks – a solid day and a great win. Only thing that was bad on this day was a 98 yard TD kickoff return that was nullified b...

Birds Do Battle at Home
Posted on 16 Sep 2010 by Michael Adamec.
The Falcons look to right the ship in a battle of the birds. At the Georgia Dome the Falcons welcome the Cardinals. I hope it won't be a warm welcome. Both offenses looked pitiful and have a lot to improve on. As I stated in my last blog the Falcons just need to open the offense up. Taking a lot more chances down field should open some holes at the line and allow turner to run wild. Of course, ...

Disappointing Loss
Posted on 13 Sep 2010 by Chris Waanders.
The Falcons offense seemed to lack the spark fans were expecting. The running game clearly struggled. Turner ran for only 42 yards on 19 carries in Sunday's overtime loss at Pittsburgh. Matt Ryan made some nice throws, but we weren’t able to put up any touchdowns, only field goals. Ryan finally made a mistake in the end of the fourth quarter when he threw a pick to Troy Polamalu. That play se...

Falcons Grounded
Posted on 12 Sep 2010 by Michael Adamec.
The Atlanta Falcons were grounded today, not by the Steelers D but by themselves. Countless plays of inept offense, dropped passes and missed opportunities grounded the Falcons today. A team that was favored in this game(albeit only by 2 1/2) was only able to muster up 3 field goals and even that was 3 out of 4. After Troy “the hair” Polamalu intercepted Ryan's week pass to Roddy Wh...

Falcons are ready for battle.
Posted on 8 Sep 2010 by Chris Waanders.
The Falcons are coming into Sunday’s game against the Steelers like a hurricane against the coastline. The new unofficial roster has been released and shows that the Falcons now have three new starters in place. Weatherspoon is at outside linebacker, Kory Biermann at defensive end, and Brent Grimes at the number two corner spot. With them in place the Falcons defensive should destroy the Stee...

Quick Hit – Falcons Sign CB Robinson
Posted on 6 Mar 2010 by Dan Rakusan.
In a move to address glaring defensive weakness, the Atlanta Falcons have reportedly signed cornerback Dunta Robinson to a six-year deal. Robinson will help the secondary as he is a solid pass defender and more importantly a good tackler. The Falcons' pass defence ranked 28th last season, and was largely responsible for the team's shortcomings. Robinson will likely be paired with Brian Wi...

Falcons Post-Mortem
Posted on 6 Feb 2010 by Dan Rakusan.
Personally, I hate excuses, so I refuse to make any for the Atlanta Falcons and a season that disappointed many fans. I will, however, offer some reasons for the expectations we all had going unfulfilled. Injuries are a major player in this sad tale, but there's more to it than just that. First, we have Matt Ryan. Ryan, playing in his second NFL season, simply made some sophomore mistak...

Falcons Mirror My Preview
Posted on 4 Nov 2009 by Dan Rakusan.
Well, I'm fairly pleased with myself and how I chose to re-surface on these pages with a pre-game writeup that in fact came true. Hooray for me!!! Unfortunately, that means the Falcons also lost to the vaunted Saints in a game that looked attainable. If you will recall, I predicted a final score of 31-24 for New Orleans, meaning an 8-point spread, despite Vegas lines calling for the Sain...

Falcons Vs. Saints – Preview
Posted on 1 Nov 2009 by Dan Rakusan.
First of all I'd like to apologize for my lack of blogging lately. Life has been inordinately hectic of late, leaving me with little time to do the things in life I enjoy. I promise to be more vigilant now that things have calmed down! Anyway, tomorrow night's tilt between the 6-0 Saints and 4-2 Falcons should be a telling one. Both these teams have aspirations of deep playoff runs...

White-Out
Posted on 1 Aug 2009 by Dan Rakusan.
According to several reports, star receiver Roddy White has not shown up to the Falcons' training camp, likely holding out on his contract. This creates a huge problem for the Falcons, who may have to re-up at a higher cap value to get their prodigy into the lineup by the time the season starts. I'll have more on this, as well as other Falcons' training camp news later in the w...

Will This Dawg Get His Day?
Posted on 31 Jul 2009 by Dan Rakusan.
To be honest, I rather hesitated to write this blog, as there's so many bleeding heart dog-lovers out there who will find my opinion rather ass-backwards. However, I implore you to judge this on the basic facts, and the consistency that exists in the world of human beings with regards to law. IE – You pay your dues, and you should be alright to re-join mainstream society. Now̷...
