2009 Lions-Still Sucking!!!!
Posted on 12 Jan 2010 by Danny Shapiro.
A new Coach, a new Quarterback, a new attitude……same results. I review the 2009 season's highs and lows and provide a glimpse of the road ahead. Well first things first, Yippee!!!! The Detroit Lions finished the 2009 season 2-14, 2 wins better than their 2008 campaign. Can this be considered a successful season for Detroit considering the fact they didn't go winless ag...

Finding Michael, Ravens Win
Posted on 12 Jan 2010 by Lea Anderson.
The threat of the vacants put the Ravens on notice that their time in the 2009-2010 season was coming to an end. The Ravens made other plans, flipped the script and put the Patriots in the vacants with a statement, winning 33-14. Greg Mattison and Cam Cameron channeled their inner Michael and layed out a game plan to stop Tom Brady. Michael learned from Chris Partlow that getting early to t...

Cowboys make it a hat-trick
Posted on 11 Jan 2010 by Glenn Stants.
How is that to use a hockey term for a football headline? The Dallas Cowboys did the difficult task of beating a team 3 times in one season. Final score, Dallas Cowboys 34, Philadelphia Eagles 14. With the win the Cowboys closed (I hope) a chapter of not being able to win ‘the big games’. With no scoring in the 1st quarter, Dallas lighted up the scoreboard in the 2nd quarter leadin...

Jets Down Bengals; Advance to Next Round
Posted on 10 Jan 2010 by Frank Mazzola.
Gang Green comes out of Queen City with surprising win; Greene, Sanchez shine A friend of mine read my previous entry, the preview of yesterday's game, and asked me why I was down on the Jets chances. “Don't you believe in your team?” he asked. Well, after years of abuse where I learned not to trust whomever plays in the Green and White to deliver the performance they we...

Can you believe it? Pete Carroll has reached an agreement in principle with the Seahawks on a deal to be their next head coach, multiple NFL sources confirmed early Saturday morning. Jets-Bengals preview
Posted on 8 Jan 2010 by Frank Mazzola.
Despite recent victory, Gang Green travels to the Queen City as the underdog for Saturday's playoff game. One would think that, after destroying the Bengals 37-0 only one week ago, the confidence level of the New York Jets would be as high as their nickname states they can fly. However, there's just a little bit of a problem with that attitude: The Bengals are coming to play for rea...

Wild in Foxboro
Posted on 8 Jan 2010 by Lea Anderson.
0 0 0 It’s the weekend of wild rematches and Bubbles (Ravens) revisits where the stitches of their season began to unravel. Foxboro is the vacants and Tom Brady and Bill Belichick are Snoop and Chris Partlow who laid the Ravens to rest in week 4. Can the Ravens become the cast of the Night of the Living Dead and end the Patriots season? In their fist match-up, the Patriots were...

This Should End Well?
Posted on 7 Jan 2010 by Sean Neumann.
Or Maybe Not. Don’t read too much into the live scrimmage the Vikings held against the Giants last week. That was more of a chance to pad stats and maybe work on some new wrinkles in their schemes than it was a test or even a game because the Giants quit on their season weeks ago. So, even though they ended the season on a relative high note, the Vikings concern me because I still get th...

Dallas Cowboys host the pesky Philadelphia Eagles / wild card game
Posted on 7 Jan 2010 by Glenn Stants.
For the 3rd time this season we have the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles playing football against each other. Question of the day is: can any team beat another team 3 times in one season? I hope I have a positive Dallas Nation answer for everyone as my buddy Jimmy Buffet says ‘Come Monday’. This game is of course the most important game of the 3 with the winner to contin...

Bill Sheridan, We Hardly Knew Ye
Posted on 7 Jan 2010 by Mark Reichman.
C'mon Giants fans, had you even heard the name “Bill Sheridan” before the rookie defensive coordinator was made into a convenient whipping boy with his firing on January 4? Then today Big Blue has dismissed defensive line coach Mike Waufle. What can be inferred from the firing of these fall guys is that Tom Coughlin will definitely not be canned. While its obvious that th...
