London Fletcher Wins Bart Starr Award
Posted on 12 Jan 2012 by Mercedes Green.
London Fletcher is the recipient of the Bart Starr Award which honours NFL players for their “outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field and in the community.” London is a captain on the Redskins, definitely the leader of the team and started the London's Bridge Foundation in 2003 to help underprivileged children. Congratulations London! So happy that you are...

London Fletcher Heading to Pro Bowl
Posted on 10 Jan 2012 by Mercedes Green.
He clearly should have been voted in on his own (snubbed to the max this year), but I'm glad he's finally going. Due to Brian Urlacher dropping out due to a knee injury, Fletcher is heading to the Pro Bowl as he was the first alternate. Fletcher ended the season with 209 tackles (by Redskins coaches NFL says 166). He also posted 1.5 sacks, 14 QB pressures, 2 interceptions, 11 passes defen...

Last Time to Vote a Redskin as Rookie of the Week!
Posted on 4 Jan 2012 by Mercedes Green.
Rookie RB Evan Royster is up for the Rookie of the Week in the NFL. Newbie Royster posted 113 yards rushing against the Eagles. Considering that he wasn't even on the roster until the last few weeks of the season says a lot about this guy. He wants a shot at starting next season. Vote Evan Now

Redskins End Season Last in NFC East
Posted on 2 Jan 2012 by Mercedes Green.
No surprise here. The Redskins were blasted by Vick's 3 TDs in the 4th quarter to be beaten 34-10. Maybe the Skins would fair better if there were only 3 quarters as they consistently lose steam in the 4th. What Shanahan has been doing over the last few weeks where it's clear there were no playoff hopes was to put players in, that normally wouldn't see any play time in the regular season, s...

Redskins Crush Giants
Posted on 19 Dec 2011 by Mercedes Green.
The Washington Redskins pummeled the New York Giants 23-10. This was a game that I would not have minded so much if the Redskins lost because that would mean the Giants and Cowboys would be tied for 1st place, but instead the Redskins play like a different team and win! The Giants were 20 points behind until a last minute TD. With the Cowboys beating the Bucs (wow that must have been diff...

Redskins Week 15 Preview
Posted on 16 Dec 2011 by Mercedes Green.
The Redskins are sitting pretty in last place of the NFC East and now face the New York Giants. The best thing the Redskins can actually do this week is lose so that Dallas does not take first. Yep, if you can’t beat ‘em, join every other team to beat the Cowboys. Last week the Redskins nearly beat the Patriots and the Giants beat the Cowboys. It will be interesting to see how the Red...

Redskins Almost Knock Off Patriots…Almost
Posted on 12 Dec 2011 by Mercedes Green.
I was tempted to skip watching the game yesterday. The Redskins with all their injuries and suspended players playing the TD happy New England Patriots, I thought why put myself through that? For you and this blog if why and I’m glad I did. It was a great game. The New England Patriot’s defense is the worst and it showed by allowing over 400 yards in offense to the struggling Redskins...

Redskins Lose 2 Key Players
Posted on 7 Dec 2011 by Mercedes Green.
The Washington Redskins have lost 2 key offensive players and they are not due to injuries. Fred Davis and Trent Williams have been suspended by the NFL (without pay) for the last 4 games of the season for abusing the “NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.” Both players failed drug tests at the beginning of training camp. If they didn't fail another test during a 30-da...

Skins Blown Over in 4th Quarter
Posted on 5 Dec 2011 by Mercedes Green.
These are the games that really annoy me. The Redskins scored a touchdown on their opening drive and they seemed to be doing well (8 plays, 82 yards). The Jets scored a TD as well, but did so in 9 minutes. That would be the only score for both in the 1st quarter. The running game seemed solid for the 1st quarter. They could have won this game no problem. In the 2nd quarter, the Skins ...

Redskins Jets Preview – 3rd Place Possibility!
Posted on 2 Dec 2011 by Mercedes Green.
The Redskins are on a 1 game winning streak and including the Dallas game, the offense seems to finally be gelling. With no hope of the playoffs and the potential of the Jets to get into the playoffs this season, no reason why the Redskins can’t fight to take out another team’s potential or just to show everyone that they’re not dead yet. The Redskins had 2 players on the Redskins (1 wi...

DeAngelo Hall Named NFC Defensive Player of the Week!
Posted on 30 Nov 2011 by Mercedes Green.
Quite the turnaround for DeAngelo Hall. After the heartbreaking loss to the Dallas Cowboys, he recommended he be cut from the Redskins for his performance. A week later, he's named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Seattle Seahawks, with 7 tackles, 7 passes defended and an interception which locked the win for the Redskins. Quite the comeback DeAngelo! HTTR!
