After years of patient rebuilding the Kings posted a successful regular season and a return to the playoffs. Although their post-season run ended short, the Kings have a lot to be optimistic about heading into the summer. (more…)

I would quote the rules of “Too Many Men on the Ice” for everyone, but we all know them. Sure, it stinks that the Canucks lost on a penalty in overtime, which aren't supposed to be called apparently. However, the Canucks player did touch the puck, intentional or not, and the right penalty was called. You can count that as 51% objective hockey fan and 49% Kings bias. (more…)

With Calgary's loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday afternoon the Kings have clinched their first playoff berth since 2002. Even if Calgary won all of their remaining games and the Kings lost all of theirs, the Flames would tie the Kings in points and lose a tiebreak in number of wins. (To be clear, the Flames can still make the playoffs, but the Kings cannot be eliminated.) (more…)

To say a game the Kings won by a score of 8-3 was a competitive affair might be a bit confusing. However, the Canucks brought a very physical game into Staples Center and made even this lopsided win a nail-biting contest. (more…)

I suppose you could also say the Kings have lost themselves. Any way you shake it, the Kings aren't winning. Of the past 4 games, the Kings have won exactly zero and squeezed a meager 1 point out of 8 possible. Not only that, but the Kings have dropped 3 straight to non-playoff teams.
