Home is Where the Hate Is

Sunday’s loss to Nashville was a demoralizing punch to the gut for every Blues fan. One of the kind of punches that not only knocks the wind out of you, but also knocks the meat and potatoes you ate three hours ago up to the back of your throat. The only other teams with 22 road wins are the San Jose Sharks and Washington Capitals. The only team with less than 15 home wins is the Blues at 12....

Blues Islanders Recap plus Pietrangelo notes

All Blues The Blues played their second game of the season against the New York Islanders last night at Nassau Coliseum. I saw the Blues lose in shootouts to Philadelphia at Wachovia center and Detroit at Scottrade center. Both were in November. Hopefully I can improve my shootout record to more than 1-2 this season. Although it was good to see the Blues come away with the win, I’m not the bi...

Back in the Blue

All Blues Aaron Palushaj’s stock fell very quickly from September to last week. D’Agostini is a good forward who has been the odd man out on a Montreal team that seems to be constantly looking for solutions in (arguably) the biggest hockey market in the world. There’s no doubt in my mind that the pressure of playing for the Blue Blanc Rouge was a bit too much for D’Agostini to deal with...

Bye Bye Carlo? Plus No Blues

Blues Notes Chris Mason is looking more and more like the goalie whom couldn’t hold down the starting job in Nashville and was traded for a 4th round pick and less like one of the hottest goalies of the second half of the 09-10 season. His save % was 21st in the league at the beginning of the game. Giving up five goals on 15 shots didn’t help tonight. In most cases I would give th...

No Blues – Around the league

No Blues Instant replay has become the bread and butter of the NFL. We can look at any call with the ball fumbling in the receiver’s hands as he slams into the ground to determine if it was a catch or if the ball completely crossed the goal line as a running back gets slammed trying to punch in a touchdown. We can also look back at the call in the snow in the AFC championship game in 20...

It’s debatable whether or not Chicago played a bad game or if the Blues simply played a very good road game. On paper, the Hawks would beat the Blues n...

First of all, you cannot expect to win many games by scoring only two goals in the NHL. As of today (January 28, 2010 5pm) there are only two teams whom are in the playoff picture in their respective conferences that have a lower GPG (goals ...

Normal 0 0 1 790 4505 37 9 5532 11.1282 0 0 0 Welcome Blues fans and other readers. Being my first blog, here’s a brief intro. I’m a St. Louis native living in Brooklyn NY. I went to high school (and college) at Webster, I love Imo’s, and hate the Redwings with the white hot intensity of 1,000 suns. I’ve been to hundreds of Blues games and rarely miss a televised...
