Devils Rally to Top Sens

The Devils rallied so did the senators but New Jersey escaped with two points. The first period was totally flat and the Devils finished it down 2-0 from goals by surprising leading goal scorer in the NHL, Milan Michalek, and Nick Foligno. This caused Deboer to start Hedberg in the second period; as always no idea if Brodeur was replaced because of poor play or just to try and generate a spark....

The Carolina Hurricanes blew a big chance to gain ground in the Eastern Conference standings when Andrei Kostitsyn scored on the power play with 3:53 left in the third period to give the Montreal Canadiens a 4-3 win in Montreal Saturday night. Montreal has been very quiet during the first two days of free agency. They signed a backup goalie in Alex Auld and a bottom 6 center/left wing in Dustin Boyd.
