Giants Win With Torres Walk Off Single and Avoid Phillies Sweep
Posted on 8 May 2013 by Daniel Trucios.
Despite a blown save in the 9th inning by Sergio Romo, the Giants would survive and manage to win in extras. It would be Andres Torres coming through in the bottom of the 10th with runners on the corners and 2 outs. Torres whacked a single to right field off of Antonio Bastardo of the Phillies to score in Buster Posey from third for a 4-3 walk off win. The San Francisco Giants (20-14) manage to...

The San Francisco Giants are able to win the 2nd game of the opening series in Los Angeles beating the Dodgers 3-0. It's the Giants' first win of the young season. Madison Bumgarner threw a gem on the mound throwing 8 shutout innings allowing only 2 hits, no walks, and struck out 6. The two hits he allowed were both doubles to Andre Ethier and A.J. Ellis. America: Please Stop Invalidating The Giants’ 2010 Title (And 2011 Chances)
Posted on 9 Mar 2011 by Joseph Davis.
What is it going to take for the Giants to get a little respect? Another championship, apparently. All over the radio, in the papers, on blogs, TV—you name the forum, there are folks who treat the San Francisco Giants’ championship as an aberration, a fluke, a mistake. They don’t use those words, but they don’t have to. The percentage of people betting on the Giants’ repeating is ...

Giants BATSMEN, 12/17: CSN Re-Broadcasts, Velez, Renteria
Posted on 18 Dec 2010 by Joseph Davis.
(Reminder: BATSMEN stands for Birthdays, Appearances, Tune In, Sundry, Movement, Eavesdroppings, & News.) I can’t speak for all Giants fans, but speaking for me, the Comcast SportsNet Bay Area rebroadcasts of the 2010 Giants postseason run have been nothing short of…terrific. The tally of magical highlights grew so high, they admittedly became a little blurred in my mind as time passed...

Giants BATSMEN, 12/9/10: Renteria Staying?
Posted on 9 Dec 2010 by Joseph Davis.
Late-breaking news courtesy of KNBR and verified via the reliable John Shea’s Twitter update: Edgar Renteria has been offered a deal to return to the Giants as a reserve, for 1 year at about $1M (pretty sure a certain unnamed handsome Giants blogger predicted that stance weeks ago). I’ll keep you posted. After a good flurry of activity, so begins the conclusion to the lively 2010 Winter Mee...

Giants BATSMEN, 12/3/10
Posted on 3 Dec 2010 by Joseph Davis.
At first I was going to refrain from explanation and let you the readers figure out what BATSMEN meant. Then I had the wise realization you do not come to PSB for riddles; you come to satiate your baseball cravings. BATSMEN is an acronym for the subject matter to be found in BATSMEN columns: (Giants) Birthdays (pretty obvious) Appearances (where our Giant personnel will be visiting) Tune In (w...
