The Red Sox Let Out Major Frustration with a 17-8 Win Over the Angels
Posted on 4 May 2010 by "Baseball Brenda" Sepanek.
Last night was a Boston sports fan's dream. The Bruins played Game 2 of the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs at the Garden. The Celtics were on the road for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. And the Red Sox were hosting the LA Angels. Could Boston pull off the trifecta? Most would have predicted winning 2 out 3 considering the Sox recent dive to the bottom of the standings. I...

Halos offense powers them to first place

If any Halos fans were disappointed by the team’s inactivity at the trade deadline they were likely pleased with the Angels past two performances. Through the first two games of the Angels series in Minnesota they have been absolutely destroying the baseball. In their two wins the Halos have combined for 22 runs and 37 hits. Certainly if the Angels continue hitting the baseball like that ...

Halos reluctantly stay the course

The Angels have overcome a lot of adversity this season and it is amazing that the club leads the AL West, once again, by three games. But that being said the Angels need pitching help. While the 100-win Halos of 2008 relied on superior pitching this year’s club has been almost a complete reverse. The Angels powerful offense has delivered for them this season. It is no coincidence that in...

Halos right where they wanted. And why they should be worried

At the beginning of the 2009 season the Angels mission was to stay afloat until their rotation returned healthy. For the most part the Halos have played that part to near perfection. Saturday in Detroit Kelvim Escobar made his first MLB start since 2007 completing the Angels vaunted starting rotation. Mike Scioscia can now throw out Lackey, Saunders, Santana, Weaver, and Escobar as his starting...

Still three back, Halos host Mariners

This past week was supposed to be a great opportunity for the Angels, they were hosting the lowly Chicago White Sox while the division leading Rangers faced the Yankees. Ideally the Halos would have been able to gain some ground but the White Sox clearly had different plans. On Memorial Day the Angels were absolutely run out of their building. Ervin Santana making his third start of the season ...

Halos claim Freeway Series, take two out of three from Dodgers

It has been an interesting week or so to be an Angels fan. Mike Scioscia’s club appears to be on a bit of a rollercoaster this May. An impressive series win over the Red Sox was followed by a disappointing sweep at the hands of the division leading Texas Rangers last weekend. This past week the Angels appeared to regain some of their swagger after their disappointing showing in Arlington....

Hunter and Angels Beginning to Click

For the Angels it has been a brutal start to the 2009 season. Not only has this club had to deal with the tragic passing of Nick Adenhart but to top it off three starting pitchers have been out and Vladimir Guerrerro has been watching from the bench for the past two weeks. Really anything that could have gone wrong has. The Angels bullpen a undeniable strength last season has made an early seas...

Tragedy strikes Angels: Nick Adenhart dies in hit-and-run accident
Posted on 9 Apr 2009 by Nich Hall.
This morning I woke up and planned to write about the Halos bullpen having lost two straight games to the Athletics after the Angels Opening Day loss. But unfortunately the cruel realities of life have struck the Angels community and put any wins or losses on the back burner. Angels rookie right-hander Nick Adenhart died early Thursday morning after a car accident in Fullerton, California. Un...

Angels once again will try to climb to the top

For Angels fans it must seem like just yesterday they were the best team in baseball, with 100 wins they went into the 2008 American League playoffs with lofty expectations. With Mark Teixeira as a hired gun and arguably the best 1-2-3 pitching rotation in the league the Angels seemed poised to return to the World Series. Unfortunately for the Halos the postseason turned out to be just more of ...
