CAL GETS MUCH-NEEDED WIN
Posted on 9 Jan 2011 by Mike Cid.
Cal knew that in order to get a much-needed win on Saturday, they had to get off to a good start against Arizona State. They jumped out to a 21-7 lead in the first 11 minutes, with good defense and solid rebounding. Arizona State ended the first half on a 9-4 run to reduce the deficit to 8 points as they trailed 31-23. The Bears looked good defensively in the first half as they had numerous...

CAL DROPS PAC-10 OPENER TO STANFORD
Posted on 8 Jan 2011 by Mike Cid.
California coach, Mike Montgomery, said it best, “we shot 50% but we couldn’t get stops.” The Cal Bears lost to the Stanford Cardinals 82-68 in the Pac-10 opener for both teams. Stanford improved their overall record to 8-4 while Cal dropped to 7-6. Cal trailed at halftime 38-34, but Stanford shot 72% in the second half to pull away for the win. They had a tough time trying to stop ...

CAL LOSES LEAD IN ARIZONA
Posted on 7 Jan 2011 by Mike Cid.
The California Golden Bears are looking for a bright spot. They have lost 6 of their last 10 games, and to make matters worse, freshman guard, Gary Franklin, who was a top-100 national recruit last year, informed the coaches he was transferring and leaving the team this past week. The Bears came into Tucson Thursday night looking to right the ship and bring their conference record to 1-1. C...

Arizona State Falls Flat in Berkeley
Posted on 25 Oct 2010 by Leslie Charles.
This wasn't what Arizona State needed. After a convincing win versus Washington, a bye week, and an amazing week of practice in Tempe, this wasn't what we expected from the Sun Devils. And this definitely doesn't help anyone to believe this ASU team will be any different from the last few years. From start to finish the Sun Devils were FLAT in every since of the word. Steven Threet couldn...

Pac-10 Wrap-up: Oregon’s the Favorite, but Plenty of other Contenders
Posted on 3 Oct 2010 by Henry Childs.
What an exciting weekend of Pac-10 football. Despite Arizona and California having the week off, the conference produced four very solid games, led by none other than the gigantic top-10 matchup between Oregon and Stanford, as well as a sight very familiar to last year’s game that pitted Washington against USC. First, let’s start with UCLA handling Washington State at home, 42-28. Once agai...

Pac-10 Preview: Oregon vs Arizona State
Posted on 25 Sep 2010 by Leslie Charles.
This is a big weekend for ASU. Against the nation’s leader in offense, Oregon, ASU has a chance to prove itself in a big way. Don’t get me wrong; this game is far from a game the Sun Devils are expected to win. Though this is a much different team than the last couple of seasons, Oregon is not only the top dog in the Pac-10 currently, they’re also one of the top teams in the entire ...

Ducks blank another opponent
Posted on 19 Sep 2010 by Ryan Frank.
Oregon's high powered offense had another big day at Autzen Stadium putting up 69 Points against the Vikings of Portland State. The Ducks knew going into this game that it wasn't going to be much of a challenge but they did know they still had to stay focused, and that's exactly what they did. Lamichael James had a career day rushing for 227 yards on only 14 carries and 2 Touchdowns. James's fi...

Arizona State vs. Wisconsin Preview
Posted on 16 Sep 2010 by Leslie Charles.
Wisconsin can’t wait to see Arizona State in Badger country this weekend. You see Wisconsin has a bit of a bone to pick with ASU QB Steven Threet. Two years ago, Threet helped Michigan produce the largest comeback in Michigan Stadium history…against the Wisconsin Badgers. The Badgers lost a 19-0 halftime lead and went on to lose the game 27-25. Threet was a masterful beast against t...

2010 Pac 10 Predictions
Posted on 25 Aug 2010 by Adrian Fedkiw.
With the sanctions at USC, the Pac-10 is wide open. Last year was the 1st time since 2001 that USC didn’t have at least a share of the Pac-10 Title. Oregon is the defending champ, but they return without their star quarterback Jeremiah Masoli. He was dismissed from the team for disciplinary reasons. The conference plays host to some of the more fascinating games in the country. Team...
