Top Tweeters: Jerraud Powers

I've recently found myself on a Twitter rant. I'm writing to support it. I'm applying for a blogger position with the topic being twitter. I'm on it a lot, and I really enjoy keeping up to date with my timeline. It truly is worth your time, and it is a whole lot different than Facebook. In the past week I've watched a lot of Sportscenter on ESPN, and ESPN anchors not only tweet a lot th...

Top Tweeters: Jacques McClendon

If you sit and watch any major show on that four letter network, you will find them quoting Twitter left and right. It is a media network's dream to have athletes, analysts, and coaches constantly saying what's on their mind giving that exact same media network something quote worthy. I can't imagine being LeBron James right now after the NBA Finals and feeling like he can't say anything witho...

Top Tweeters
Posted on 13 Jun 2011 by Nick Clason.
I love Twitter. It quite possibly could be an obsession of mine. I sit down every evening (or morning) to write a blog post, and I have my browser window pulled up and sized perfectly to allow my tweetdeck single column view to fit on the left side of my computer screen. I love Twitter. I am currently in the job market (if you know of any openings, let me know) and I am applying for anyth...

Believe in Brown
Posted on 10 May 2011 by Nick Clason.
This post is coming to you after an emotional viewing of the Oklahoma City Thunder's game four win over the Memphis Grizzlies. I have learned to hate the Grizzlies, and the hatred for Gasol doesn't stop in LA. Anyway this whole “Believe in…” series started out with a discussion about the Colts defense next season and whether or not Melvin Bullitt can be a quality starter for...

Round 2 of the Playoffs- Unpredictable?
Posted on 2 May 2011 by Mika Oehling.
Let's start off with a joke. An article on Yahoo Sports has highlighted the latest antics of the famous Green Men in Vancouver, who have chosen to taunt Carrie Underwood in their latest Canuck conversion cut-out attacks. They're quick to point out that they don't have anything against Underwood, and that they're just poking fun at the fact that she's happily married to the opposition. Glen ...

Colts bad luck at Defensive Tackle
Posted on 13 Apr 2011 by Nick Clason.
I read an interesting article the other day on Quinn Pitcock, the former 3rd round draft pick of the Indianapolis Colts. Pitcock was a great player, when he played. And I began to think that he was a string of bad luck for the Colts at defensive tackle. They have lost at least 4 of their top DTs to unforseen and random circumstances. To read the full article, click here.

Top 5 Bills Quarterback Busts
Posted on 6 Apr 2011 by Norm Duhamel.
No news to report from the lockout. I'm not in full panic mode yet, however my finger is close to the panic button. I thought it would be fun to look back at the “great” quarterbacks the Bills have had since the departure of Jim Kelly. This top 5 might make us shake our heads and ask “what were they thinking?” but with the third pick in the upcoming draft, and Cam Newt...

Greg Monroe and the Number 10
Posted on 29 Mar 2011 by Colton Turnquist.
Good article about Rodman's jersey being retired and how Greg Monroe is going about the whole situation. The Pistons are retiring Rodman's #10 jersey on Friday and Greg Monroe wears the number 10. He always has, but is willing to let it go. Just depends on what Rodman says. Shows this kid has respect for the game, and truly appreciates those before him. Here is the article by Rob Otto: http://b...

The “Faux Five”
Posted on 15 Mar 2011 by Chris Girandola.
By now, you've either seen the “Fab Five” documentary on ESPN or you've heard the comments made by Jalen Rose about Duke's players being “Uncle Toms.” It has ignited one conversation to the next including follow-up comments by Rose on ESPN's morning sports variety show, First Take. I was going to write a column discussing it, but Washington Post columnist Jason Reid ...

Vince Carter? Slam Dunker, or Slam-Dunk Hall of Famer?
Posted on 11 Mar 2011 by Brad Botkin.
The other day I was reading an article about the “freakish” talent of one Tracy McGrady, and how, in the opinion of some, it actually worked to the detriment of his career. The argument was simple: The game simply came too easy to T-Mac. His crazy leaps and bird-like wingspan, and – as McGrady's former coach Jeff Van Gundy stated – his terrifically high basketball IQ, ma...

Crying Shame? Not in Lombardi’s Book
Posted on 8 Mar 2011 by Steven Keys.
Vince Lombardi was a complicated man. More than just a task-master, Vince could, on occasion, let the tears flow. Here’s an excerpt from a Time Magazine article published shortly after his death in 1970: “After that stunning era came to an end and Lombardi was busy rebuilding the Redskins, he unabashedly admitted: ‘A lot of what I say sounds corny. But it is me. Hell, I’m an emotion...
