F.I.S.T.E.R.
Posted on 17 Jun 2012 by Jeremy Klumpp.
On Friday night, the Colorado Rockies scored eight runs in the top of the 10th inning to beat the Tigers 12-4. Unfortunately, the baseball season does not stop for such heart wrenching defeats, and the Tigers looked to rebound Saturday afternoon. Riding the arm of Doug Fister, and the bat of Miguel Cabrera the Tigers won 4-1 over the Rockies at Comerica Park. Fister (1-3) returned from the disa...

Fresh Prince in Cincy
Posted on 10 Jun 2012 by Jeremy Klumpp.
The Tigers overcame a poor performance by Justin Verlander's standards to defeat the Cincinnati Reds 3-2 on Saturday afternoon. An eighth inning single by Prince Fielder off of Sean Marshall (1-2) scoring Brennan Boesch proved to be the game-winner. Verlander lasted six innings, but threw 127 pitches giving up six hits, three walks and two runs. Verlander did strike-out nine Reds batters, and ...

Tigers Beat White Sox With Pitching
Posted on 6 May 2012 by Jeremy Klumpp.
After Saturday's heartbreaker of a loss to the Chicago White Sox the Tigers needed to bounce back quickly. They did exactly that behind a solid pitching performance from Rick Porcello (3-2), and three solo home runs. The White Sox half of the first inning seemed to pick up where they left off yesterday when Adam Dunn hit another home run to right field. It was his ninth home run of the season,...

Verlander tosses CG to get first win
Posted on 17 Apr 2012 by Brett Decker.
Justin Verlander had an interesting outing tonight against the Royals and Danny Duffy. Justin started out losing his no-hitter on the first batter (which is not very common for Justin) Alex Gordon who laced a double down the line. Then Chris Getz did what all real #2 hitters should do (pay attention Leyland) and sac bunted Gordon to third. Then Verlander pitched around the Royals young stud 1...

I’ll Take It
Posted on 13 Apr 2012 by Brett Decker.
I'll Take It! should be the attitude that every Tiger fan, and really every Tigers player as well, has about the recently completed series with Tampa. While there were times through these three games that Detroit seemed dominant; the overall series was really a knock down, drag out fight between two almost evenly matched likely playoff participants and world series contenders. The deepest and a...

Dirks Could Mean Changing of Guard for Detroit
Posted on 21 May 2011 by Jeremy Klumpp.
The Sunday afternoon game between the Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals was supposed to be the major league debut for outfielder Andy Dirks. Mother Nature had other ideas and the game was called due to rain. Dirks would have to wait one more day for his time to begin in the big leagues. In his major league debut on Monday night against the Toronto Blue Jays, Dirks went 1-2 with a walk. With...

Orioles = A Sign of Spring
Posted on 8 Apr 2011 by Sven Jenkins.
According to all-birds.com, the Oriole is a sign of spring. So it’s no wonder it felt like Mother Nature skipped over spring the last thirteen years, the Orioles have been nowhere to be found. However, it’s just six games into the 2011 season and the Orioles seem to have everything clicking for them. The offense exploded for nine runs in yesterday’s rubber match, giving the O’s a 5-1 ...

The Tigers’ magic number? .500
Posted on 21 Sep 2010 by Shane Liebler.
When last I wrote about the Tigers, I argued the team still had a chance despite their rotten post-All-Star Break performance. They did. Of course, in order to be in the AL Central race one month later, they had to win. They didn't. So, here we are waiting out the rest of the season, wondering who the Yankees will beat to win the World Series and managing our fantasy football lineups. In other ...

Brown Dazzles in Debut
Posted on 29 Jul 2010 by Adrian Fedkiw.
You know, I wanted to be clever with my title and entitle my 1st entry What Can Brown Do For You. Well, I visited mlb.com, and it was already taken. I guess my creativity skills are lacking. I'll tell you whose skills aren't lacking, meet Domonic Brown. Brown is the most coveted Phillies prospect since Cole Hamels, Ryan Howard and Chase Utley. Hamels debuted in 2006, Howard in 200...

Allow me to introduce myself
Posted on 24 Jun 2010 by Trevor Stewart.
I love fantasy sports, I love fantasy baseball. I am jokingly referred to as the “Sultan of Stat” among my buddies, because I love statistics and analyze the holy heck out of them. I am not omniscient, or inerrant, but my obsessive compulsive tinkering and study of fantasy sports gives me some credibility. Don't hinge on my every word, don't follow me blindly, but read my blog and e...

Taming The Tigers
Posted on 23 May 2010 by Dave Leonardis.
All of the buzz surrounding yet another hot Dodgers start seemed to take a back seat after a fastballfrom Dodgers reliever Ramon Troncoso clanged off the dome of Tigers rookie outfielder Austin Jackson in the 8th inning of L.A.'s 6-4 win over Detroit last night. It was L.A.'s third straight win and moved the Dodgers into a first place tie with San Diego in the NL West, a feat that seemed impro...
